do you have a preferred amount you like to win every day? I've been trying to do 5% of my br and it's working.
Personally i think it's best to win a certain amount, then quit, instead of getting greedy and going for as much as you can.

1. Concentrate on playing good poker and the curent table dynamics.
The money won/lost should be the result of you doing step 1.
I say table dynamics because you said you may quit when up so much. Only quit if the table dynamic becomes less favorable - ie. all the people you were taking money from left and solid players have replaced them.
You can play good poker and still lose money, so that should not be your barometer.

I agree. Your goal should be to make good decisions, and hopefully as a consequence you will make money.

5 % of your bankroll is not a realistic goal. OK if you quit after you´ve won that amount, but if you get sad if you don´t manage 5 % a day in avarage, well then you´re gonna be one sad person cause that is not gonna happen.

5% a day is pushing it, but its not completely unreasonable, especially for the low stakes games. If you play .5/.10 with a 120 bankroll, i think making 6 a day is plenty reasonable. at least until you get to that awkward in between stakes bankroll.
*I haven't played .5/.10 in a while. to me, 6 dollars is like, a strong bet, so maybe it wouldn't be as easy as i think.

I looked at my long term goal and broke down what I need to make per week to get there. That's my weekly goal. I've broken it down by day as well, but I don't worry much about whether I make it or not...it's more just to give an idea of how I'm doing.

Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

If you have $100 in your bankroll and increase it by 5 % a day for a year, then you will have $100 x 1.05^365 = $5,421,184,158.
This is not a reasonable goal.

ok, good point. but for a short time it is. i'd think you could make 5% a day until your bankroll hit 250. That's 15 days of 5% BR increase, to go from 120 to 250. 15 days is a reasonable amount of time for that.

Yeah you can go from 120 to 250, i had 250 about 24 hours ago, i made $45 last night and about $110 today, my total BR is about $405 now, i caught a luscious hot streak of cards but i've cashed in, now i'm just wondering where to go whore myself, this is on VC, 200BB stacks, mmmm 200BB stacks.
