how exactly do you know when to move up in limits? How many hands is a good sample? Here is what i have so far:

Game: 0.02/0.04
Hands: 1000
Vol. Put $ In Pot: 27.67
Went to SD %: 32.12
Won $ @ SD %: 54.78
PF Raise %: 4.3
BB/100: 14.20
Amount Won: $5.42

Game: 0.02/0.04
Hands: 756
Vol. Put $ In Pot: 23.15
Went to SD %: 36.05
Won $ @ SD %: 54.76
PF Raise %: 5.56
BB/100: 24.6
Amount Won: $7.44

On a side note: How is my progress?

A good sample size is several tens of thousands of hands... i have 5000 hands logged at .5/1 at 7 BB/100 and i KNOW that this isnt sustainable, which justifies my answer.

You know when to move up limits when you have 300 BB saved up for the next limitand have been soundly beating the limit you were previously playing at.

Judging by your stats, I say you are ready to move up limits since the level of play at the next level doesn't change very much at micro limits
Goal for 2005: $30k
So far: $31k

IMHO ... If your bankroll can fund it (see 'Rilla's Bankroll management advice), I see very little difference between $0.02/$0.04 and $0.5/$1.

In fact, you may find that at $0.5/$1, it more LIKE 'real' poker ... at least at this level of micro-limits you can sometimes push people off hands. I personally think that I would suck at $0.02/$0.04 ... I'd probably play too loose and develop bad habits .... always using "it's only 2 or 4 cents" as an excuse for bad play.

Man, at $0.02/$0.04 I wouldn't be surprised if you are getting >=6 or 7 pre-flop limpers EVERY hand.

MANY PEOPLE LIMP. many cold call as well. wow right now there are 7 callers to a raise! I am more afriad of busting out. I wanna be cautious. I have been on a run of cold cards, so now isnt really the time to move up. Thank you for the advice and hopefully i will move up asap.

If you can afford the roll, you should be playing the Party .5/1 game.
