I'm posting this here because I wasn't sure where else to post it. sorry if it needs moved.
I played $5.50 SST's for basically 9 months or so. The first 5 or 6 were basically spent just doing one at a time. The last 3 months or so I started multi tabling and was clearing $250-$300 a month. about 23%-25% ROI averaging about 130-150 tournaments per month.
I moved up to the $11's and suffered a pretty good downswing. I don't think I was playing real bad but some variance and simply a different type of player it seemed. wasn't anything I was overly concerned with. downswings when moving up are fairly common I'm sure. But I decided to take a little break and dabble in cash for awhile. so playing $10 level and have done ok. Up and down but mainly breaking even throgh a very small sample size.
The trouble is when I went back to play some $5.50 tourneys I found myself being very impatient and aggravated by the whole thing. Is this normal?? I think it was just becoming use to not having to play hands I didn't want to in cash, but because of blind structure in tournaments I had to. I think I was becoming too selective in opening hands from cash play and it screwed up my tournament thought process.
I guess this is kind of a ramble. I guess what I'm asking is this something anybody else has experienced when doing both cash and Tourney play. And why it is advised by some to play one or the other and not both?
Also, I usually play 2 or 3 tables when doing cash. I have to play alot of 6 max on sportsbook because FR just doesn't fill up much. Is $300 a month possible playing 10NL for on average 10-12 hours a week. Or do i have a better chance of making that in $5.50 or $11 S&G's if I keep the ROI over 20%?
I know everyone says cash is where its at if you want to make $$$ but just doesn't seem like I can play enough cash tables at once to make $75 a week or something like that.
I want to focus on something but just can't decide which way I want to go. I really thought I was done with tournaments. But I played an $1500 guaranteed bounty tournament this weekend with 114 registered and took 6th. Like $75 profit and that got my tourney juices flowing again. LOL
Maybe cash and MTT's are the way to go. But I know variance is so bad in MTT's.
Someone tell me what to do because I'm now lost. LOL
Sorry, this was more me venting then anything I guess but I'm posting anyway.

What's your winrate at what stakes for cash (include 6max or full ring) and how much do you get to play a week?

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Really not sure on winrate as I don't have Poker Tracker as it isn't allowed on sportsbook. So I know the questions I had were hard to answer. I guess you could could take whatever you consider a good rate at 10NL and cut it half at this point. I'm still feeling my way in cash and really am a tad lost in 6 max. I don't think I am opening up my game enough compared with FR. I am now playing about 10-12 hours a week. When I was getting my 150 tourneys in a week I was playing more like 20 a week. I have slowed down a bit as of late just to give myself a bit of a break. I work full time and have a wife and 13 year old at home so weekends are my main time to play.
Sorry I couldn't answer any better than that Spoon.

Track your winnings. If there is a hand count, take a note at what count you started and where you finished, and how much you won/lost.
Some things don't add up for me here:
I can play twice as many cash tables as sng's. I don't understand why the opposite is true for you.
Hand selection is usually WIDER in cash games than it is in sng's - at least according to stacks as you're not worried about ICM in a ring game. +relative stacks are deeper pretty much all the time.
Don't go for a specific winrate. Just go for whatever is best in terms of money divided by time.
