I played all of February and did okay. I made money, but I am nowhere near killing 5nl. I didn't play all of March and when I came back in April it's like I had forgotten how to play. Anyways, here are a couple hands that had me in a tough spot.

HAND 1:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

saw flop | saw showdown

SB ($5.31)
BB ($11.97)
UTG ($3.53)
UTG+1 ($6.21)
MP1 ($2.04)
MP2 ($4.97)
CO ($4.37)
Hero (Button) ($4.94)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, J
2 folds, MP1 bets $0.20, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.65, 2 folds, MP1 calls $0.45

Flop: ($1.37) 4, K, 7 (2 players)
MP1 bets $1.39 (All-In), Hero ??

HAND 2:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

saw flop | saw showdown

MP1 ($6.01)
MP2 ($3.05)
CO ($3.13)
Button ($2.72)
SB ($2.90)
BB ($3.78)
UTG ($5.68)
Hero (UTG+1) ($4.79)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with J, J
1 fold, Hero bets $0.20, MP1 calls $0.20, 4 folds, BB calls $0.15

Flop: ($0.62) 2, 3, 7 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.40, MP1 calls $0.40, 1 fold

Turn: ($1.42) A (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets $0.40, [i]Hero ???

I am guessing that I should have bet here due to me being the aggressor earlier in the hand. Villian was running 20/14.

HAND 3:

I don't have the hand history for this one but will try to describe it as best that I can. UTG limps and it folds around to me on the button. I raise to 4x with QQ and the BB and UTG both call. Flop is 4c7cKs. The pot is $.62. I bet $.40. UTG then reraises to $2. UTG is running 67/33. What is my move here?

I noticed a common theme here. It's all whenever there is an overcard and I have a high pocket pair. Hmmm. Just thinking out loud.

dranger7070 has a little shameless behaviour in the past

Hand 1: I very rarely 3bet JJ PF unless the guy is a total aggro monkey and even then you are only getting better hands/coin flips to call you. Just flat it PF. If you don't 3b it its pretty easy to get away from on the flop. As played its still an easy fold.

Hand 2: Your raise PF and flop c-bet look like missed overs. On the turn when you check you turn your hand face up and give control of the hand over to the villain. Just fire this turn because it is easily believable that it hit your range and shut down if called/raised.

Hand 3: You got c/r on a K high flush draw flop by an aggressive player. At 5nl this usually indicates a lot of strength. I don't care that this guy is running 67/33, he can have easily hit a set, a pair and FD, etc. You might be ahead here, but its ok to just let the hand go. No sense in building a pot with a hand that might be ahead but that is behind a lot more often.

Hand 1: I think it's a coin flip here. Him shoving the flop here seems to me that he's going for the flush I would put him on...

AJs+
22+

I know it's a pretty wide range but the K didn't seem to slow him down so I would be leaning more towards the nut flush draw.

Hand 2: Agree with dranger

Hand 3: I think you're beat here unless this guy is super aggro. But I think he hit this one nice. Whether it be a set, a K, or AA, you're beat here. It's kind of good he bet you so much because he really saved you more money by doing so.

JKDS is on a distinguished road
Try to answer these questions

what range does villain need to be continuing with for us to be 3betting JJ for value?

why might we want to 3bet bluff JJ? How often would villain need to fold and relate this to his opening range and continuing range.

Is it better to 3bet JJ or call?
