I was watching on TV a US poker championship game and the hands were:
A-clubs, Q diamonds 1st player
K-clubs, 9 clubs 2nd player
on the table: 10-clubs, 2-clubs, 4 clubs, 9-spades, 8- clubs
on the screen the 1st player had the check mark to win, but i thought the 2nd player won with a club flush, can you explain to me why the first player won and why he had the check mark. Thank you

A-10-8-4-2 is an higher flush than 10-9-8-4-2. Higher flushes beat lower flushes in poker.

nope just in omaha. You dont have to use any of your cards.

so in omaha u have to use 2 of the 4 cards, but in Texas hold u dont need to use any of your cards?

nope. you just play the best 5 cards, even if they are the five board cards
