you are in the small blind, how many limpers need limp in to make you complete your small blind, and with what cards. Obviously we raise the good ones, but what about the midium grade hands like 560 or 97o. I have been curious about this for some time, and can't tell if me completeting some of these blinds with these hands is a leak or not.
Also, I at times like to take stabs at pots from SB or BB when the flop looks like it helps no one, giving me some extra value in completeing the SB.
any opinions?

20 views but no replies. Is this just a stupid question? Or does no one have an opinion?

its a pretty broad question. Ill complete with alot of hands if the BB is loose and likely to stack off in an unraised pot. If hes fairly tight then id rather be blind stealing.
If theres 1 limper who doesnt like calling raises then im more likely to raise 56o than if 1 or both of them are loose.
I dont need many limpers to play a drawing hand but whether or not i limp/raise is more down to who the players are than what cards I have.

I don't think it is ever a mistake to complete a SB your implied odds are huge if you hit.

If I have anything remotely connected I'll usually complete but I fold total crap like 94o.

These don't have much logic behind them, and I don't follow them 100% strictly, but here are my criteria:
suited 3-gappers or better
suited Kings and Queens
unsuited 1-gappers down to 53
unsuited 2-gappers down to 74
unsuited 3-gappers down to J7
unsuited Aces
unsuited Kings down to K7

unless i get 2 or more limpers i fold a fair amount.
I might call with one limper if i find an 87o or T9o hand but of i find 87o or 46s ill prob just fold.

Remembering that to enter the pot you need only pay half a bet, just think in terms of whether you would pay half a bet to enter the pot. This is based on having placed no money in the pot (when you have already place a SB into the pot.

The regulars in the games I play don't stack off with lukewarm hands in unraised pots.
One factor I consider is my ability to steal the pot on a bluff or semi-bluff.

I'm w/ you, but you know what, its the worst position at the table.
Personally, I hate to limp in against multiple callers from the SB. What are you looking for, 2 pair or better? We know how often that happens. FUrthermore, the more callers and the more nutt peddling there is the more chance your 2 pair or better isn't getting paid off or is beat. And your OOP!
I like to fold everthing but very good drawing hands and raise big w/ decent hands after many limpers in the SB.

Over 50,000 hands at FR and SB is my 4th most profitable position. 40% VPIP in SB. (BB is my only losing position on the table)
I would need a very good reason to join in against a raise - but on non-aggressive FR tables with at least 2 limpers - completing the small blind has been profitable for my style of play.
Like Fnord - I focus on opportunities to steal pots if I am going to complete. Not hard with good reads. That, and trapping LAGs when I flop big. My win % in SB is 12.5%.
Hope that helps provide more perspective...

when its folded to me and bb doesnt defend his blind i´ll raise anything. w/ one or two limpers i fold a lot of hands, because i still have huge problems playing speculative hands oop. w/ 3 limpers or more i´ll complete most sc´s, suited one gappers maybe off suit one gappers down to 86, suited aces and kings.
