Well done Rippy! I was expecting much more for the last hand - such as winning it with A high!

Umm....I've never played on stars, but from what I hear the toughest games are there (?). AND this is 200NL? Or is this just a select rarity?? Or should I open an account on stars for microlimit NL...

As with life, poker is filled with difficult decisions.

Micro stars certainly teaches you the basics. I spent a while learning the 5NL game at stars and then moved to 10NL at paradise and the 5NL game at stars is probably closer to 50NL at paradise than anything else.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

I bluff too much in these games...

Hand 1: NH sir, I like every street.
Hand 2: This guy is tipping, you can dump this one to reverse implied odds on the flop.
Hand 3: My god what a horrible river bet by that guy! What made you go for the river c/r? I would 3-bet the turn and stick the rest in on the river, but I think the line choice is interesting.

Against hyper aggressives, or guys on tilt, I've done this river c/r before. Sometimes they check through but since he might not call a good value bet, I likey. Plus, you'll be able to buy a lot of free cards after that.

BTW--beautiful sequence. You must be a b-tch to play against, Rippy!

Stars or no stars, if you know what you're doing, you can make just about anyone put money in when you're ahead. I would say they call Stars harder because people go there from other sites where they won a lot of money, but realize they have no real poker skills while doing so (traps, image management, reads). They're just smart enough not to play super stupid, which was good enough to win a lot of $$$ on donkypoker.com. On Pokerstars, the smart raw players adapt to the "real" poker environment, and become smart seasoned players who figure out new and exciting ways to Pwn. If you're a smart person, you'll make money on Stars too. It's just different. There just aren't as many fish.

Implied odds at 200-400NL on Stars are delicious to say the least though. I find that money moves around rather fluidly on these tables.

The big secret of poker is that you will bust almost anyone if you make the proper adjustments to counteract their style of the moment. Stars is not immune to this.

Hey WildBob, when I was deep ITM of the 45K guaranteed last night, one of the railbirds from FTR suggested that this particular tourney would end with Rondavu and Wildbob heads up. Then it dawned on the other railbird who said "Hey, Wildbob isn't even in this tourney"

Yea I busted about 40 spots out of the money when I pused AT from the BB into a habitual stealer. He called me with JT, spiked the J, and that was that. Congrats on nice cash for 3rd though. That's awesome.

Now I feel like an asswipe. I thought you actually never entered the tournament.

How did you know the guy was calling an all-in c/r on the river in the 3rd hand?

Think of the reasons why a certain type of player might feel Rippy is only representing a flush, and then tie that to a further committment from the opponent. He's giving the opponent odds to call a habitual board bully. Only thing is ripptyde makes good reads, and he knew the guy was ready to showdown a good hand against the frequent bluffer. It's just proper image management IMHO.
