My initial BR was 400.. kicked it up to 500, now its down to 350, im playing on the 25NL holdem tables.. i lost 150 bucks in one day over a 4-5 hour period, seemingly slamming into brick walls, geezuz christ, i was told the variance at these stakes would be small... is a 150 dollar swing normal?? (hrm.. now that i think of it, 60 dollars of it was probably due to tilt)

Most of my bigger losses occur when I all-in bluff. I'm taking you did this too out of tilt. Patience is all it takes and solid play will get you out of this downswing

After I lose 2-3 buyins in one day, I'm not playing again until tomorrow. This may help you from going on too much tilt and losing 6 buyins in a row. Rilla says to only play with 10% of your BR per day and this is very good advice.

Yes you were out of your br a touch, but then i've done the same at that level when ive walked into everything from quads to royals with top hands so i'll say nothing other than follow the advice.

Try to identify the tilt when it happens ... if you have a hard time doing this, maybe you should make a personal rule to take a break whenever you lose a buy-in. If you really must keep playing, drop down to the $2 NL til your head clears. Do whatever you can to not play when on tilt. Don't be that guy in the WSOP a couple years ago that went from chip leader to busted in 2 hands.

yeah, it happens, I took a $150 downswing not that long ago actually. at least I recovered with a $250 upswing 2 days later, so you just have to keep on playing and get used to the swings.

It's been a month now, still swinging, but not swinging as hard, leaks are beggining to get plugged, but not nearly as perfected that i want it to be. I can still recognize leaks, just gotta work on repeition/burned into my brain. Building some resistance to tilt - playing smarter etc.
I just keep telling myself when i tilt/downswing, the money doesnt disappear, it goes toward the "build resistance to tilt" fund.
Also i've begun to really realize how important game selection is. ie: play @ primetime 60k+ppl online on pstars on a saturday evening = more fish.... latenight pstar = rock central
