Guess villain didn't believe my massive over bet on the river

Absolute Poker (Cash Game): $0.01/$0.02 NL, 8 players
Mon, Dec 7, 2009 04:27:34 EST
Powered by Poker Academy (Format: 2+2 Forums)

B5 ($0.50)
Hero ($1.35)
B3 ($1.58)
B2 ($1.31)
B1 ($1.46)
BN ($2.21)
SB ($0.61)
BB ($2.02)

BN is the button.

Precards:
SB posts the small blind $0.01, BB posts the big blind $0.02.

Preflop: Hero is dealt K K (8 active)
B5 folds, Hero calls $0.02, 5 folds, BB checks.

Flop: K 4 T ($0.05, 2 active)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: K 4 T 4 ($0.05, 2 active)
BB bets $0.02, Hero calls $0.02.

River: K 4 T 4 3 ($0.09, 2 active)
BB bets $0.04, Hero raises to $1.31 (all-in), BB calls $1.27.

Final Pot: $2.58, $0.13 raked
Hero, net: $1.23, Won at showdown, has K K (a Full House, Kings over Fours)
BB, net: -$1.35, Lost at showdown, has T K (Two Pair, Kings and Tens)
SB, net: -$0.01, Folded Preflop

I wonder what the ev on my river shove is if we assume villain calls with any king or better. This probably wasn't the best way to play the hand but fun just the same. Time to go run this through stox.

river shove has a expected value of +.29 if we say villain stacks off with any king or better. If we are having a serious discussion about the hand for just a sec please notice there are no draws out there. Really i only need worry about him hitting quads or maybe him having aces and hitting a bigger FH. I would never do this on a wet board. I would have a hard time forgiving myself if the flop had a flush draw and i let villain hit a flush for cheap on the turn.

Well i could have sworn that i put brag in the subject line. That means the post may not contain the most effective way to play the hand. Or it may not be a serious post at all. The post was in fun more then anything but i think you missed that point. As far as no worse way to play the hand. I could have folded the river lol.

Yes I think I missed that. I did't think that you use that word in an ironic way.

Ok, I'm no pro... but disclaimer aside, I think villian played this horribly, and I'll be honest, I don't like your play on it either.

KK loses value if you are flat calling pre-flop, unless you had this exact target in mind... while I know you said it was a (brag) post, I don't think this adds value as many will see it as a lesson in trapping... which might not be the most beneficial lesson in the BC.

But again, just my .02

You've posted two 2nl hands today where your stack has been $1.31 and in this hand, $1.35. Why? In both hands you missed out on value.

Not raising this pf is worse than blowing up orphanages.

FYI, there are draws on the flop as there is potentially an oesd and a couple of gutters.

This hand is just pure bad and you're fortunate a decent amount of the hands we win in poker come from putting coolers on other people.

I guess you already know that the hand is played terribly. If you don't want comments on your line then post it in tales of poker. Normally villain folds river and you get what you deserved for playing KK so poorly.

turn is obviously fine as played, and shoving the river is the only thing to be done in this spot. But...
pre-flop is awful.
Flop is bad I think, curious about what others think here.

Checking behind top set is non-standard but fine. I like it even more the lower the SPR on the flop. Hence the awefulness of the pre-flop limp.

The pf check was actually a serious move cause someone would raise every other hand so i was going for a c-raise. I decided to have fun with the hand after the flop.

Fnords theory saves this thread from lock/move/bin, but please dont post brag threads in the BC, especially ones where you play bad. Tales of poker for crap like this.
Just playing to improve.

The problem is that you're trapping for small money, and when the big money answers it's going to be pretty transparent what kind of hand you have.
