No reads on villian 17 hands 12/0/3 %50 checkraise

This hand came up during a sweat session with someone who I felt was better than myself so I took his line. But my question is during the session and this hand I questioned checking back the turn. Villian has limp called, check called, and check the turn. At first glance he appears to be on some kind of draw. So with that impression a bet on the turn would be good. But would with the ackward stack size of villian be better checking back the turn? As betting the turn pretty much pot commits us. So rather than betting should we be shoving? Or should we be checking back the turn? Then calling a less than pot sized bet from villian on the river rather than paying him off for his whole stack. Or folding when he shoves?

 i like betting for a few reasons. the main reason is that his range is mostly made up of kings and draws which we are way ahead of. obv there are sets, two pairs and a straight, but the amount of hands he could have and is likely to go to showdown with that we beat outnumber the rest. Then, i want to get the moeny in quickly. I dont like shoving, because i think he can fold alot of draws and weaker kings to the large bet.

You say "then calling a less than pot sized bet from villain on the river rather than paying him off for his whole stack". Do you feel that his range is stronger than our hand atm or is this results oriented thinking? If we check the turn, he may bet missed draws on the river as a bluff so a call is good there, but he may also bet his weaker kings and all made hands. Overall though, i feel his river betting range if the draw misses is stronger than his turn calling range. TBH, i feel that makes checking the turn a bad play.
