hand one...push flop? me? no way. but, i also would have been inclined to block the turn. do we think he would try the double c/r? we just picked up a bunch more outs to the nuts.

hand two...you gotta stop being afraid of the c/r, imo. you also cant fear the flush all the time. here, you need to test him. fire in a good $20, and see what he does. you are likely still ahead...after all, what flush draw leads flop and calls a big raise? if the fourth heart comes out on river, sure, check behind. if not, rip the river for 1/2 pot or shove it..whichever you think he will call.

as played, i dont like minraises, but this river is as good a spot for one as any.

Wow.

1) shove the flop. You have a gutshot, backdoor flush draw and probably good overs, and against someone this aggro preflop tons of FE. as played shove the turn, you have at least 15outs and less than a pot sized bet remaining

2) Bet the flop more, and bet the turn. Fold to a shove if you want, but not betting the turn means you aren't getting paid by the Ah. I wouldn't raise that river though.

chopper, i had position in that hand, so unless i misunderstand what a block bet is, i cant do it here..?

let me explain my train of thought through that hand and see if you all can comment...

hand 1
i had seen this villain call all streets including pfop raise with 10 6, hit a pair on board and called down to river to win, and ive also seen him call pfop raise and fold on a not so scary flop..
with that in mind, his mini c/r on the flop made me think he was sitting on a pair with probably crap kicker, and likely wasnt folding unless i shoved. and at the time, i wasnt willing to risk my stack on the assumtpion that he would make the correct decision (folding) especially when i felt his hand was better than mine on the flop.

the turn, /sigh, i didnt raise and knew i shoudl of.

if i could play this hand again i would most definately raise turn and shove to his c/r with those outs.

hand 2
chopper hit it on the head, i must of been scared of the hearts here, need to work on that!
anyways, my train of thought here was "he may have the flush, so i can check then call what will likely be a mini-raise on the river, or fold to a big raise if the river is a heart.

/sigh

why wait untill the turn in hand 1? hero has a gs and bd flush draw or 5.5 outs to the nuts. I think it is safe to give him 3 outs for his overs. so that is 8.5 outs. Now if we assume that villan will call 100 percent of the time then shoving is bad but we don't really need him to fold very often. If i somehow got to the turn i would certaintly go all in their .

my opinion on hand one is that, while shoving isnt the worst thing, i like waiting. i dont feel like we have much FE here, and i would like to see math calculations to help me understand how little we need because i dont do that on the fly, and should. that may tip the scales for me. but, 8.5 outs is not enough equity, for me, to want to felt my hand here. and, waiting for turn isnt best always because most times we lose half our flop equity. of course, here we didnt.

once we call that flop c/r, we have no FE left and also wont have any trouble getting stacks if we connect, imo. if villain is that maniacal, he may bluff it to you on river.
