Um. I don't see how it's possible to "count cards."
Counting cards in black jack is to see what cards are out of the deck so that you can change your initial bet accordingly. But in Hold Em the deck is shuffled every time and you only see your own hole cards and the community cards... it's impossible to gain any edge becuase of this.
Tips for playing? The forum is full of them. No way to condense them all into one post.

You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

wanafight, I suppose you need to learn how to play hold'em first. If you knew how hold'em is played, you'd see that the question you're asking doesn't make sense.
Counting cards is a blackjack aid, not for poker.

The only thing I might add to this is that if there is an early position raise and several callers, it probably means a lot of high cards are out, so if you're holding low cards, you may want to stay around to see the flop, even in a raised pot. But I doubt that qualifies as card-counting.

I'm guessing that you were under the assumption that more than one hand is dealt from the deck, as in Blackjack. That isn't the case.

I've thought like this already and calling from the button with a mid to low PP or suited connectors. If you hit a hand when a bunch of rags flop, you might be in real good shape to scarf up a large pot.
