I've been playing for a few months now. I've tried cash games and couldn't beat them, so I've moved to small buy-in tournaments. I do well there. I've managed to increase my bankroll a little bit. Can someone give me some advice to make my cash game play better?

Don't be as prepared to stack off with TPTK bottom two pair etc. especially when facing aggression.
You are 100bb's deep so don't see a pocket pair pre and start to play for stacks.
Play really tight in early position and loosen up a little as you go round.
Have a browse through the site and think through a few hands yourself then see what others think. Read the strategy section.
Play with 20-30 buy ins for your given level.
Some will say buy in short for a bit to reduce the importance of the last few streets, I don't like it buy you may.

Hi and welcome to FTR, it's great to have you here
I suggest you post hands either here or in the NL cash games forums (either 6-max or full ring, whatever you're playing) to get advice. It's hard to give general advice because it may be generally correct but specifically wrong.

Make a hand, and drop the hammer. Don't drop the hammer on other people's made hands.
This is my cash cliche of the day. Wait, I feel another coming on...
Make sets, get payed. Mmmm tasty

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Its kind of hard to sum up cashgames in one sentance. They are certainly a different beast to tournaments. Id say the two liner to describe beating 2NL on stars is
Play tight preflop and if you make a hand bet it until you are raised.
If you are raised fold less than 2 pair.
Obviously you need to play a more complicated game to do really well but that should get you started.

Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

Agreed.
Also, OP, learn pot control. Dropping a 20BB stack in a tournament is not the same as dropping a 100BB stack in a cash game.
