Hoopy is an unknown quantity at this point
Hey guys,

I play 2NL at pokerstars, started with $50 and have worked my way up to $100.

My question is this, the max buy in at the 2NL tables is $5, I usually just buyin for $2 (100BB's). Should I start buying in for the maximum?

I'm planning to move up to 5NL at $150, mainly because I like some cushion in my bankroll.

I always buy in for the maximum. When you flop a boat, you want to get the most from it and you can't do that with a short stack.
<@d0zer> how will you learn if I don't berate you harshly?

^lol. you buy in with the max with nothing but flopping boats and stacking suckers?

yes i reccomend buying in for the maximum as you can obtain max value from your good hands.

However, i also like it as it frees up your play. You can profitably draw much easier than if you buy in as a short stack. now 100BB is obviously not a short stack but if theres others on the table with $5.. then its harder.

if you're comfortable, a larger stack lets you play a slightly wider range of hands imo... or maybe 100BB is plenty enough and im playing too wider range when deep lol

either way yes, you can cash in much better on your nut hands. but be willing to loose more too if you make mistakes or cop bad beats.

idk you probably could find the other 20 threads where this question was asked.

How about you buy-in for 100bbs and then if you notice a player is really bad and has more you then top your stack to cover him.
