Was wondering if any players knew some tips on how to build/nurse a small roll on Pokerstars. I have a grand total of $0.80 on stars and was wanting to play there some more. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks guys!

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

this.
Pretty much just suck it up and deposit some cash and grind it. Play within your bankroll, read the articles in this forum and study what you learn here. Grind more.
You can go through the whole freeroll playing trip to try and build a bankroll but it's prolly gonna take forever and it's not gonna teach you anything except how to shove AA preflop against 7 callers.
I do know of a bankroll builders video series on another site but I don't know if it's cool to post that info here, so I'll wait for a go ahead.

Message Board - Keiths Blog
scroll about half way down that page (jul27th ish) and I started a similar challenge for fun. I started with $4.50 though and when you get to the graph you'll see that even then i was down $1 initially. It can be done BUT i normally play 25nl so i have experience, I had a bit of a bankroll cushion, and if i busted it didn't matter,(although ego wise i'd have preferred not to). Set against that i was unknowingly up against a currency conversion effect that was continually plundering my profits revealed at www.crushonlineholdem.com/keith and announced at http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...rs-182801.html and Important info for iPoker players - Internet Poker - Online Poker Forum
the 2+2 thread also brings up the fact that the same effect happens with seamless conversion on stars , but i don't play non $ tables at stars and have no inclination to do so.
if you have experience it can be done , but you have no cushion, experience is unknown and you are on a much smaller staring bankroll than i was . Just deposit and learn how to play fully stacked and fully rolled without having to make compromises and getting yourself into loads of bad habits as a result.

I loaded up £15 for my grind, that's a tad over $23, around three moths ago or so. I was willing to deposit again if I had to, but it looks like that won't be necessary, I'm up to $175. I don't think I actually ran into a deficit apart from my initial $1 buy in to a mtt and a few 2c blinds before I was in profit, certainly I didn't go below $20. But no way is 80c enough to cushion a bad beat or three. Of course, it can be done, but it's gonna be tough. Personally, I'd just take the 80c into a cash room and treat it as 40bb stack, and start grinding, hoping for a double up with my first big hand, praying that no bastard hits a river flush or whatever. Once I'm up to $2, I'd leave and then split it into two tables, looking again for a double up, but this is no way to start your poker grind. Just load up $20 and then you don't have to kick the dog when 22 beats your AA, costing you a mere buck.

Hey guys thanks for the comments...I have alot of experience playing. I normailly play on Full Tilt and I started there from $0 and I withdrew $1500 last year and had $600 more behind and then Rush came along and I chased some losses and POOF! gone. So I am back grinding and I think it made me a stronger player in the long run(the first time). I enjoy a challenge and don't really have any extra doe around for a deposit and I'm married LMAO so the wifey likes the withdrawels alright it's the deposit part she don't. If I have to deposit on stars then I will but was trying to avoid it if possible. Thanks for the comments again.

thought I would post a few of my wins and my best cash...

Here was a decent win...

I'm not the best but I'm not a liar....
Here's my best finish in the Daily Dollar...

I should have won this cause I was by far the best of the final 3 that night. I chose incorrectly to flip vs the DJ guy. I had pocket 10s 3 handed...he had AK off and hit. Left me SS'd and lost a few hands later. Mistake cost me $900 IMO.
BTW I had to get up for work an hour later but I had a good day.

Even though I feel like I do well at times I resolve to try to be the best(that I can be anyway). It's why I choose to start and be active member here. I want to contribute and in turn learn alot myself. Seems like a very knowledgable forum. And that my friend is what I seek.
