I am currently killing the $2NL tables with a win rate of about 30BB/100. My question is, should I move up right now to $10NL with a BR of only $90 or should I beef up my roll for a while longer?

I'd just play NL10 and only push big edges...

I was in pretty much the same boat. I moved up to 10NL at $100 BR and the money scared me into playing like crap so i had to move down again. The standard of play at 10NL is alot different to 2NL at paradise (dont know about where you play). It still isnt that hard though and it is definatly beatable if you play anything close to your a game.

I ended up dropping down, then deciding to bonus whore a little (pretty hard at 2NL/5NL). I tried a couple of sites and realised that i was playing 10NL while i was playing with bonuses and then i realised it wasnt hard at all so i moved up.

Bottom line: $90 isnt alot of money, and if you can afford to replace it when you move up AND if playing with that much wont scare you then go ahead an move up. If you realllllly dont want to lose it then wait until you get to at least $150 before you move. Then you can drop down again at $100 if you need to and it wont seem like youve lost as much. More importantly the $150 might actually make you play better because you arent as scared of losing it.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?

Don't waste any more time. Move up to 10NL right now.

Try some 25NL around 250-400.

Since you're killing 2NL, It really shouldnt take you too long to at least wait until you have 15-20 buyins for the next level. The farther up you move, the bigger you're gonna want your roll to be.

Freech, the UB $10 are not a lot tougher to beat than the $2 tables.
I'm overly conservative, so normally I'd say you should wait until you feel properly rolled for it.

But in this case I'd say grab $10 and see how you do...if for some reason (bad beat, misread etc.) you bust, go back and get that $10 back at the $2 tables and then try again when you feel up to it.

I'm still at the $10 NL UB tables myself - but I started at those with a $75 deposit at UB back in late October or so - now at about $300. Of course there's some luck involved, but I never went below my original deposit - built some buffer, etc. I've definitely had downswings of $20 - $25 or so but nothing worse. It's really a nice site.

If you're comfy, and can move down if u get outplayd then move up.
If you're scared of busting then get to 150 b4 u think about it again!

I was going to say something along the lines of what Pelion offered. For myself, I play @ PokerStars, and found the transition up to 10NL odd. It was as if the game got easier, I think due to the fewer players to a flop.

I strongly recommend playing @ 2NL for a while before you move up though. I played there for two months and learned a lot, which will help you that much more when you move up. Hands played experience is such an important thing, and it doesn't matter where you get it from because when someone has a good hand they'll bet it, when they have a bad hand, they won't.

i do personally like 25+ (normally 30) buyins just for comfort but when you know you're skill level is good enough and its small stakes, i think 15 would be fine. you can gambol it and try playing with 9, just make a rule ie drop back down if you lose 2 buy-ins there, then try again when you've earnt them 2 buyisn back.
Experimenting - 200NL 5max.
