Am I crazy, or are there bots on Bodog?

Example: Mr_Hand, FearIt, and pbandj.
Mr and Fear both have the same location set.
All are tight as hell, and after some play, very predictable.
They are playing 10NL 24 hours a day.
Never any chat, no matter what you say.

I've been making a point to log in and play at strange hours just to see if they are there.

Someone in chat mentioned they were bots, and I told them they were nuts, but I'm really starting to think they are.

That is exactly what I've done, at least with the two from the same location.

pbandj, I honestly haven't watched enough to get that gut feeling, so left that one out for now.

I play on Bodog and I've noticed the players you're talking about.

I really don't think pbandj is a bot. If memory serves me, I've seen him chatting. He seems to play well.

Mr_Hand could certainly be a bot. I've seen him play often and I'm pretty sure I've never seen him chat. He (it?) plays extremely tight. He initially came to my attention because of the (relatively) large amounts of money he was winning at the 10NL tables. I've not seen him winning large sums of money for weeks, if not months. If he is a bot, a simple programming change could make him close a table when he reaches a certain amount of money, thus never drawing attention.

FearIt also came to my attention because he was winning big at the 10 NL tables. I've not seen him winning big lately. I MAY have seen him chatting, I'll check my notes next time I see him.

Perhaps they are bots, perhaps they are just playing multitable with the chat turned off. I'll start looking for them and tell you if there's any time they aren't playing.

If they are bots and they are predictable, shouldn't it be easy to take their money?

Let me know what Bodog support tells you.

Mr_Hand winning on three tables.

pbandj winning on one table, appears to be losing on one table.

No sign of FearIt.

I looked up their main stats on Poker Edge and they are very similar like you said.
VPIP PFRaise winning BB/100
Mr_Hand 10.00% 4.73% 18.70
FearIt 10.07 % 4.60% 24.46
pbandj 9.97% 4.64% 25.12

I think when ever I play them in the future I am going to see if they answer on chat and warn the other players they may be bots.

That will accomplish 3 things.

1) If the guy running the bot sees he will take precautions to get his money out before he gets caught, or to become less obvious.

2) If he doesnt see it will scare the fish away from a table where you dont particularly have to compete with anyone for their money.

3) If he is not a bot he will laugh at you and you will feel silly.

Youve done your job. Let support do theres.

12 midnight EST

No sign of Mr_Hand, pbandj or FearIt at the 10NL tables.

I don't think they're bots. They probably just play a lot tighter than the rest of us fools on Bodog. Mr_Hand probably plays with chat turned off.

Case closed or have you heard from customer support?

The other option is they are people running pokeroffice which turns off chat options so they never see chat anyway.

I know for myself if I'm running pokertracker rather than office I'll still not worry about watching the chat boxes on tables since I'm not there to chat with people, I'm there to concentrate and try to play even apart from the fact that if you have full dealer details on and multitabling it's most likely that any chat comment has already scrolled past before it's even seen.

Live I'll chat and joke around with people but online if I want to socialize I'll play WoW or LoTRO and I find the way everyone using the reasoning that people that don't respond in chat are bots to be pretty laughable.

I usually "Joke" about them being bots to get them to say something, but no luck.

I've also noticed both Mr_Hand and FearIt are both from "Eastampton" and plays exactly the same.

It's easy to steal their blinds, they mostly always fold to a bet.
If I have a monster hand, and they are in the hand, I'll slow play it, seems to be the only way to get them.

Support got back to me fairly quickly, opened up a case, and said these players are already being investigated, and thanked me for the information.

Bots or not, I think Mr_hand and FearIt are the same person.

They could be using something like PokerTracker. ( Poker Office does not work on Bodog, My license is wasting away but thats a different topic )

At 4 AM: Both Hand and Fear playing 3 tables each.
No sign of PBandJ.

I haven't watched pbandj too closely, but always make a point to join tables with the other two.

Which time zone are you in?

My 4 AM EST report has pbandj at 3 tables, FearIt at three tables and Mr_Hand at one table.

Do you really make it a point to join the tables with Mr_Hand and FearIt? I've always avoided tables they were playing at, assumming that they were good based on the amount they play and amount they win.

I played a couple of tables with Mr_Hand last night and you're right. His play is very predictable.

All in preflop means AK or better.

If he raises $.35 preflop, he will fold if someone raises to $.6 or higher.

If he raises $.8 preflop, he'll generally keep betting the hand if the flop hits good.

He will occassionally limp in, but the only hand I saw him showdown when he limped was A 4 suited. I'm sure he'd be easy to scare out of the hand.

This guy is so predicatable it should be easy to take his money a little bit at a time.

On an unrelated Bodog note, did you know FTR and Bodog sponsored a tournament with a $300 guaranteed prize pool last night? You had to be a registered FTR user and Bodog user. The entry fee was only $3.3. Only EIGHT PEOPLE were playing. It's almost free money. I guess they sponsor it the third of every month at 10PM EST. I'm still kicking myself because I didn't find out about the tournament until 10:30.

eastern zone.

Just checked, All three playing 3 tables each right now.
Actucally, Mr_Hand and pbandj are at the same table. ( I should join in, it looks like a ery loose table. Wouldn't want the bots stealing all the dough, Mr_had is already up to 40 )
I never see Mr_Hand and FearIt at the same table, but I suspect them two are the same person.

Yes, I do make a point to get to their table, Mostly to watch them and try to decide if they were bots or not. I can say, they have Never called a raise from me. You can take their dough a little at a time.
