2 situations...

1) you have a great hand, and not much action at all on the table.. You decide to bluff...

raise 3Xbb? .. raise pot? all in? which is most likely to get you the most money?

2) same situation, and your bluffing, which will get the most folds?

3) grat hand, small betting happening, but nothing large... slam a huge bet? all in? small raise? .. how would you get the most money into the pot? how would you get rid of the most chasers if you fear someone else getting a better hand (aka, top to pair, 3 of a kind, ect)

Anyone know where i can find some general betting advice?

Thanks!
David

1/2. Id recommend varying your strategy. It really depends on what experience you have with people and your table image. Are you reckless, if so you will be called more often. If you are a rock you wont be called as much.

3. To get out the chasers you should bet high. Id bet the size of the pot with a great hand and a draw on the board, possibly a little less. That gives them crappy odds to call and you will make money in the long run if they call.

It also depends on what type of game you are playing. An all in in a tourney is different than an all in in a ring game. IN a Ring game you can buy back in a tourney you cant. In a tourney, at least at the start it is generally a good idea not to put too many chips into the middle, because losing an entire stack kicks you out.

Greedo017 is on a distinguished road
this all varies with table image, etc. but in general, if you want to get called bet a little smaller than the pot 1/2-3/4 or so. if you want to get folds, bet the pot. if your hand can be beaten by a draw, you want folds. if your hand is better than most draws out there, or you yourself have a good hand AND are drawing to a nut of some kind, you want calls.
