I played at my local B&M casino and bought in. Hit some early nuts which doubled me up twice quite quickly, that was fine for me as the blinds were minimal and I was regualry taking down pots becaus I had the benefit of having enough chips to see 80% of the flops.

A little info - #10GBP = 1000chips (every rebuy - #10GBP = 1000 chips)
The rebuy's last for 2 hours.

2 Hours (rebuys over so no more reckless all in's to double up by anyone) in when the blinds are roughly 600/1200 and the average chipstack is 6000 ( I personally had 7800) I hit two monster hand where i flopped 333 and took down two all ins (AA and JJ which didnt hold up) putting me on about 23000 chips.

Next hand I flopped 444 and cleaned out the shortstack and crippled a big stack before he folded. It put me on 37500 (this was the chip lead)

What I need advice on now is that I stopped seeing any old flop and waited for pairs and big hands. But whenever I called a blind people would re-raise me all in which didnt give me odds as I only wanted to see the flop. It was the same with my blinds, if I was big blind on 2000/3000 etc people with half a hand (A10, 99 etc.) would just go all in.

I dont want to double people up just to catch a card myself but I just ended up bleeding chips for ages and ages. Do people see the big stack and think its an automatic double up if they go all in because 'he's gotta call he's got the chips'?

I did take my foot off the gas but should I risking my chips on draws for the advantage of taking people out? And are these people going all in on draws or low pairs just because its the big stack they are facing?

Help! I threw away an amazing position to end up 9th

 Typically people are scared of the bigstack because he can bust them, and you should be able to bully people. You definately have to make a stand now and then, if you show a tendency to fold a lot it's natural people will push you around..

er... Dont! It doesnt matter how many chips you have people will

a) Realise your cards suck
b) Get a hand themselves.

You can see more flops with a big stack but 80% is taking it way too far and is just spewing chips back to the people who almost always have a better hand than you when you are in a pot with them.
