Last night I was playing in a NL .5/.10 table at PartyPoker and was what I thought was a bizzare hand. Sorry no hand history, but I'll describe it.

I was sitting on the button with JJ. 5 people limped in ahead of me, so I raised .6 and got 4 (!) callers.

The flop came A95 rainbow. I thought with 4 people, someone was BOUND to have an A, my Js are crap. but.. Everyone checked! So, I raised .6 again.. and got 4 callers.

The Turn came... K. So, no one had an A, but someone MUST have a K, right? 4 checks later I was very confused and just checked to see the river, which was a 9.

Ok, so maybe someone had a 9? They didn't bet it if they did.. 4 checks. I was so baffled that I just checked and won the pot with two pair, Js and 9s.

I need to dig up the hand history and see what these people were chasing. I suppose I should have raised on the river and took more of their money.

Renton will become famous soon enough
raise bigger preflop. There are five limpers so I think .80-.90 should do it.

raise bigger on the flop. You almost gave inside straights odds to chase.

well played. that is bizarre. i agree with Renton and would've put $1 in PF with that many limpers
