Hey guys, I just did some digging, reviewing my past week's performance, and noticed a trend in my game.
80-90% of my winnings come from small to medium pots. But I'd say 80% of my losses come from getting stacked.
Just wanted to get everyone else's input. Are you guys making all your money by getting stacks, stealing blinds, or just getting those medium pots like me?

i'd answer, but my database sample is small, i buy in for 250bb, and i've run like Allah for the last (first) 8k hands in my database. i would guess it depends a lot on your style of play. and your stakes. if you're a winning 9/7 at 2nl then i would expect it mostly comes from big pots vs fish. if you're a good loose aggressive player at 200nl, possibly more so from the smaller and medium pots. thats just a guess. the truth may be the exact opposite

usually my winnings come from the 1-3 big pots I win while the small and medium pots cancel themselves out.
I'm going to guess that is because I suck at recognizing spots where I can get more value, over value some hands, and play too loose. I've struggled to get my vpip under 19 lol workin on it =)

@Fedora
I recently looked at this stuff too on my PT3. Overall I was ahead in pots from 1-50BB. And Slight down in pots 75BB+. What I took from that, and already know, is that I tend to stack off a bit too light vs fish. Especially those 60ish BB ones who look like idiots but usually have the good anyway. Of course this can also be affected by how you are running since if you just don't get any action with your big hands or get sucked out in going AIpre. Over 10K hands for me KK is my biggest losing hand but when I looked back at some of my other biggest losers there were definitely some "WTF" moments at the hands I was stacking with. Take a look there.

^^^^^This.
When I look back at some of the stupid hands I've stacked off with it's a miracle I've run at 12bb/100 over 20k hands.
Actually I'm wanting to get a stats check from some more experienced players now that as of yesterday I've moved up to 10nl. I tend to run at approx 16/12.5, no idea if thats tagg or lagg or something else, but it seems to work reasonably well for me at 5nl, (although I've had down swings of 4 or 5 buyins) but I'm wondering if that will be a recipe for disaster as I move up.

Hey Fedora or Donachello, could you gimme simple brief steps to pulling this info from my PT3? I'm assuming it's running a report, but I can't figure out how to make it come out with anything meaningful.

Wow!
Just looked at all hands where I've won or lost 75bb or more.
I'ts happened 87 times out of 17653 hands, and I'm 1060bb up which is 66% of my winnings. Expected value shows I shoud be 825bb up, so I've been a little lucky.
It also shows I get my whole stack in once every 200 hands, which is far more than I expected.

Actually it's pretty straight forward. Filters-->General--->Misc. There's all the different sizes of pots. Filter and observe.

I checked my biggers losers and winners last night over 20k hands, and my biggest winners were AA,KK,TT and 98s. My biggers losers were QQ, JJ, and AQs.
Says something about overvaluing big but not awesome big pocket pairs imo- I think i should be prepared to lay them down on undercard flops more often..

Ya, I found that over my last 20k sample or so. The hands that stacked me over the last 20k or so hands.
KK vs AA ( 2 times )
QQ vs ( KK or AA ) ( 3 times )
AK in coinflip or dominated by AA or KK ( 7 times )
twice top 2 against a set
and a few times when I got drawn out on the river.
So mmmmmm, biggest leak is probably shouldn't 4 bet or 5 bet that much with QQ, KK, AK against nits
