...and sometimes if you weren't? Could this be considered a "crying" bet? The hand *immediately before this one I made a full house versus this guy and got pretty well paid by him.

you should make sure to point out that this is a limit game, and that betting if you are going to call anyways isnt always the best option. if you think you might be ahead, then the check-call (especially at the river against bad opponents) isnt a bad play since it allows worse hands to put money into the pot.
