Obv weekends > weekdays, but what specific days and times have you found to be the fishiest times to play? Mention site, stakes and give some details. I'll go first.
Full Tilt 50nl and 100nl 6max
Any weekday: 1AM > 5AM > 2PM > 8PM (times EST, or GMT-5, I think)
Weekends: Fridays aren't fishy until about 1 AM (which is actually Saturday morning obv). Saturdays are fishy from early evening on, Sunday fishy afternoon and later, ending about midnight.
What have y'all found about the most profitable times to play?

I think dranger and I have played 10nl during every hour of every day, possibly?

Ack you beat me to the punch.
Also, this may just be the tables I selected, but if you can handle a little more variance and can play it decently, the small stakes Omaha games are amazingly profitable at those times.

Depends on what I'm playing.
I play predominantly low stakes SNGs ($5,6,10,11) and prefer to play on weekdays 12:00->17:00. Almost never on weekends.
The play in the micro SNG's can be so bad on weekends and my biggest leak is a tendancy to get pissed off. I prefer a SNG with at least a few good players on the table, as opposed to mostly shitty ones. I run far better on a marginally better table. Call me an idiot but my stats. show this to be true for me.. by a longshot.
For 6-MaxNL, weekends..... anytime at all.
MTT's, weekdays again (for the buyin level I play at, $26).

Hard to say a given time is consistantly fishy once you get to Mid Stakes and higher (100NL+ online, $10 bb (some $5bb) live.) Keep an open mind and check some times you don't usually play and you will find really good games often with regs who don't have a read on you.

I was goofing off today at 2 pm, time I don't usually play, and was impressed how many fish were online at 50nl

the most important thing here is MY state. The most profitable time to play is when i am alert, focused, emotionally calm, and psyched to play poker. In this state I am stronger than the games i play, regardless of time of day. When I'm tired etc, I can quickly become weaker than the games I play.
but, games seem weaker whenever promos are running.
Full Tilt 50nl-200nl full ring are fishiest on non-deep tables when happy hour bonus fpps is running. Deep tables are often 6-8 break-even or better regs = I normally don't stay long cos there are weak tables aplenty.

10NL on Bodog
Believe it or not, I run better on week days than I do on weekends.
I usually play sometime between 9 PM and 11:30 PM EST. I also have good results on Sunday mornings.

Interesting. I've always thought that peak times are best, so evenings for the majority of the player base. Mainly just due to the sheer number of tables to choose from which equals better choices for table selection. I have found mornings to be ok too. Students I guess.
That said, as long as you table select any time can be good. I've been on Everest when only 5 tables are running for my stakes, but if theres a fish on 2 of them, then those 2 tables are profitable. I just quit the session if theres no good targets on any tables I can get on.

Site: Poker Stars
Stake: 50NL (yeee)
Fishy Times: Peak hours whenever 160k+ people are on
Super Fishy Times: Friday 10 PM EST
i would warn against playing during off hours. I've had entire FR tables with nothing but regulars. Sure they're still bad but definitely not profitable to play against

Well.. I beleive you it hit right on! You are totaly right in saying what you said as i agree fully. The best time to play.. is when you are focused, relax, not tired, etc etc! I agree also that time facter in itself is somewhat irrelevent!
Im sure we have all done this...play when we are tired! Thats the worse scenario possible and how many times i got caught into that.. and still continued to play and made bad decissions in the end..and with regret.

I only play at PS, 2nl, after 9pm CST. I find there can be some people with cash to blow who are bored....
I've played a bit on Sat-Sun afternoons and find that time to be profitable...

I was just thinking about this last night.
I play 50NL on iPoker, which is euro dominated, but the times that suit me during the week tend to be around 10am - 2pm GMT. Who plays then? It turns out that the same regs are there every day, and they're clogging up the 6-max tables with solid 17/14 games for hours on end. Half the time its tough to find a table with more than 20% of players seeing the flop.
So I've been thinking that I'm not doing my winrate any favours by battling full-time multi-tabling TAG regs during business hours day after day, and I might instead try to reorganise my day so that I can play during euro evenings, when I reckon there'll be a lot more part-time spew merchants.

if you cant play on a weekend, try euro-evenings. US times are getting tighter all the time. you may have better luck if you play with players that can constantly reload....or at least dont think its illegal (like US fish do).
switching regs is a great idea, but i also think a decent LAG would make a killing on mon-wed US nights crushing nits. start adapting your games.

I keep a spreadsheet of all the times I've played. I'm on the West Coast and I've noticed that in SNGs at the $3.40 level on Poker Stars is very tight, especially between 4-6pm. After 8pm, it loosens up and becomes much more profitable. As for 2nl, I don't even think it matters when you play, you'll always find some 80/2 guys out there.

My rule of thumb "what times have the most people who have been drinking on?".
Playing a euro site during GMT middle of the night, or GMT middle of the day is guaranteed to be a reg-fest full of blind passing and the occasional cooler. If you must play at that time, table selection becomes paramount. Gotta find the few fish available. Problem with iPoker is most of them are using Spade-Eye to find the fish too. A site like Everest (even though there is an Everest version available, lack of datamining makes it less useful) the regs tend to be pretty lazy and just stay on tables rather than bum hunt.

Good thread, I usually play around 9pm GMT at poker stars 5NL. However I'll be changing that soon as all I seem to run into are the weak tight regs, who aren't as profitable as the fish.

Site: iPoker
Steaks: up to $20nl
Worst time: I don't play during office hours, my poker time is always between 6pm and 1am (GMT) weekdays, and then weekends. Out of those, early evening midweek is the nittiest (but as a semi-lag I can still make mannies then).
Best time: Sunday morning. Friday & Sat nights you tend to run into sharks everywhere, but Sunday morning it's all feeesh in a barrel.

Best time is in the weekend friday/saturday night. Sometimes (especially on the lower limits) people do not care if they have a drink and play, those kind of players are always welcome. I believe its more important tho which players you play

NL means 'non-loin', so it's finest ribeye baby.

Isn't it too of a general question?
Maybe it should be more specific like which room- which variant...

I made most of my money on Bodog playing Thursday nights during the school year. people were clearly drunk yelling the f-bomb every their J2 got stacked on a J-high board or every time they got stacked because their flush didn't complete. haven't found anything anywhere near comparable to such saturated fishiness of Full Tilt, prolly 'cause it's international

Good thread. I'm enjoying the information. I don't have anything real new to add, but have found (eastern time) nights and weekends to be the best.
