Makes sense.. people will typically be feeling more bummed out at those times (since they are "supposed to have something to do" like be out drinking or on a date then) so they'll play worse.

Another thing is that a lot of fish are people who just want to have some fun playing poker, and then the weekends will be the ideal time to do so.

Ofcourse that's all just conjecture

Funny, I was thinking of putting up a similar kind of post. You beat me to it.

I was going to write that I find have found a few good times to play.

Weekdays, either early in the morning my time (evening in the U.S.) or evening my time, though I find a mainly European crowd to be a lot tighter and quicker to fold to a raise, so less big pots.

More lucrative still are Friday evening and then the weekends, indeed.

Without a doubt, the best money is when there are load of Yanks online, particularly at times when there is a good chance that they are imbibing. No offence intended to those of that nation on this forum.

I think that there are just too many people who -- after one or eight beer -- think they're in the final table of a big WSOP tournament, 'cause they'll push all in with all sorts of hilarious things. That's why weekends are best!

I'm in the european timezone (GMT+1) so at what time should I play to catch these "sucky yanks" at the tables?

Jackvance, I usually try to get in a 100 or so hands before I leave for work, and that's 05:00 or so on the continent. I'm moving to Scotland on Monday, so I suspect I'll have to alter that a bit. I've just discovered, though, that a bit later, like 07:00 until 09:00 Central European time is most amazingly good for morons. Just as good as the weekends.

Weekends I would say the same thing. Early mornings and then mid evening. If I were a nightowl, I would think that playing from 20:00 until 03:00 or so would be amazing. As it stands, I make do with my split-shift routine.
