This morning i was playing at a table of players who thought they were real sharks, always boasting about how brilliant they are.

So i decided to stir them up a bit.

I am dealt on the BB. mostly folds, one guy raises from late to 5BB. I am the only caller. flop was AJx no clubs. checks, turn, A, I check, he bets 1/2 pot, i smooth call. river: A.. at which point i dance hysterically . i check, i'm sure he has something and will bet. He bets $5, pot is $4. i raise all in. he thinks then calls. he has JJ.

He goes balistic. So having made a very fishish move in calling out of posistion with Ax suited i decide to take this oppertunity to get the whole table noting me as a fish. I make up a bunch of things about how i was calling on implied odds and i expect to catch runner runner quads every second hand.

pretty much the whole table had a go at me, critisizing my play. and i took note of their names and can now use the incident as a tool to steal pots off them.

I'm starting to think that the more players out there that think i'm a fish the better so do you guys think that promoting yourself as being crap is a good idea? Or do you want other players scared of you?

How are people going to continue thinking you're a fish unless you actually play like one?

exactly.. because you flop a wheel every time you play A5, everyone knows that.

on a more serious note.. i worked out my odds to beat this guy.. on the flop i was 95% underdog, on the turn 85% underdog. I feel sorry for him.. wait. no i dont.

85% underdog with trip aces? Can you expand on that?

He was holding JJ.. J's full of A.. i had to catch the last A or pair board not J.. 4 outs to win.. I dont think 85 is exactly right.. but i was in a pretty bad state.

fish do not use the words "implied odds" or "runner runner quads." nobody is fooled by this act. if you want people to disrespect your play, talk about luck.
