Default 3baller/shot caller/20bb's while drivin' an impala

i spent the last week back down to 5NL to try out my newfangled 3betting as a bluff knowledge and was frustrated to have a winrate of like 1.7BB/100 over 8,000 hands. i felt like i was losing it (and was very frustrated that i can't find any of the HH's i wanted to put up for review).

anyway i finally moved back up to 10NL and within 1.2k hands i was up 4 buy-ins. i can't imagine my winrate's gonna stay over 10BB/100 for very long, but it got my confidence back

your fold equity is pretty low at 5nl, so 3betting as a bluff will be much less successful. imo it isnt really useful to start 3beting as a bluff until 25nl
  7. #457
    4/588 on a 5$+.50$ tournament on FT for $257.25.

I should have gone on to win this thing, but got the beat stick in my face instead.

Big win soon. I can FEEL IT.

it's opponent dependent but it's been very useful at 10NL 6max. it gives me a huge edge over TAgg regs who simply don't know how to adjust.

anyway, i just put in another 1k hands today and was up another 4 buy-ins (20BB/100)...BALLIN'

Default Easiest $$$ I've made yet

    Hey fellow Grinders:

Was playing on Tower Gaming last night...easiest money I've ever made.

Was dealt AA - Looking like I might take down another pot so I lead out with a $5 bet, Instantly I am Re-raised to $15. I push back with a quick all-in (somewhere around $80 if I remember right) The raiser snap called me his last $40, and I am thinking "here comes a AA vs.KK HU" Lo and behold he has K3, I almost fell out of my chair laughing...Of course how online goes he caught a K on the flop but wasnt so lucky with the turn and river. Easiest $55 bucks I ever made.

Just started playing online poker last month. Set a goal of going from $0 to $100 (hopefully within 4 months).

Over the past 3 weeks, built up my bankroll to $2.06. Still some way to go, hopefully will get there eventually.

June 10th I deposited $25 and cleared a $27.50 bonus and after 2 months of grinding my way up to $25 NL DON sit-n-goes...I reach the $1850 mark...I gave $50 DON's a shot but competition was too rough and my roll took a $500 hit in a week...
I now decided to give cash games a shot today and am up one buy in only 100 hands. Haha, just excited to make a transition to cash seems how I have PLENTY of time to play poker and could potentially make more $ in ring games ( HOPEFULLY). My roll is currently at $1300 after 2 months of play...(most I've ever won since playing serious), and I'm at .10/.20 ($20) on Cake. I feel I'm rolled enough to play $50NL...but cash games are foreign to me, so I will stick to .10/.20 for a week or so until I feel more comfortable.
  25. #475
Set a goal for myself of grinding up from 0 to $1000 before i graduate from college, and i won $61.50 by getting first out of 6360 in a pokerstars freeroll! Yay good stard

    Default Proud and Determined

My biggest in person tourney was a 1800 person tourney that I won. It took a little over 18 hours to finish 1st and I was exausted, but it was awesome. I won 5000 dollars and a paid entry in to a $500,000 online tournament at Hollywood Poker. I finished in the money in that tourney.

My biggest online win was at Pokerstars. I won a Daily Eighty Grand Game and then played in the tourney where I finished well enough to get myself a good stake.

My best experiance was playing in Vegas. It is a great atmosphere.

Since I'm new here, I won my first MTT month or so ago. 700 people, 250$ for 1st. It was great coming to the final table and then ending up heads up but being huge short stack only to completely dominate my opponent and take the first place.

Won several 90 man 2$ SNGs as well. Winning tourneys sure feel good.
  40. #490
Good to time which was not due to an operation and had to start yesterday but I played a tournament and becomes only 6 and I took $ 7.50. It is not much but I did illusion.
    A greeting.
  41. #491
lol babelfish is awesome. a greeting to you as well.

Just passed the double-up mark on my initial $50 deposit at Stars. With job/family it has taken some time but my future progress will be way faster.

I gotta say I've read a few books but nothing has sunk in as quickly as the discussion/HH's found here. Just watched Stacks' micro video series as well. Highly recommended.

    Default grinding back up...

Was down to $3.xx on ftp and grinded it back up to $24.xx . I just kept jumping up levels and stopped after i lost a couple $ hand. Figured my luck was gonna go bad so get away before the "Always" 3 outer hits...

Default My First Royal Flush On Full Tilt

This is my first Royal Flush on Full Tilt... small pot... ended up taking 3rd in this event. In live games I've hit 3 so it was a surprise to finally hit one on Full Tilt.

    Rock On!
  47. #497
After 12k hands (I know, not a huge sample) and a win rate of 9BB/100 (even after a pretty tough down swing) I moved up to 5NL last week.

I've been playing pretty low volume and don't even have 1000 hands in yet, but it's been a pretty easy transition so far. I've not noticed much of a difference in play between the two levels.

Oh, and my BR passed the $150 mark this week. That was pretty exciting.
  48. #498

Default I don't know what is wrong

    Hi,
I was always a winner, I mean my balance was always above a thousand. no matter in reality or in online.
but recently, a kind of curse is on me, it is 5 weeks that I am loosing non-stop! If I have AA some body wins with 58 !!
so I decided to come on this online forum and see what others do and what I am missing.
I always play online at www. zibazi .com
  49. #499
    Hi,

After 15k hands of loosing poker my roll was in half. So i started to educate myself and in the next 35k hands i was going at a 3.4 ptbb/100 rate (rakeback not included). Today i doubled my initial bankroll playing only 9-max NL2. I will be moving up to NL5 pretty soon so i'm all happy about it and wanted to share it

  56. #506
skrizy i think at 20 buy ins is a good time to filter in one or two higher limit game tables. it makes the transition smooth as when you hit 30 bi you are comfortable with the flow.

Had my first Royal Flush today on Bodog. The best part I actually got paid off for it. $5 SNG, still currently playing will come back and edit with results.

OKay, been done for a while but just getting back to post results. Finished 2nd in this SNG. Got donked by 10-2o. Guy bluffed huge and I held KK. All-in he calls and hits 10 on flop 2 on river. Was still nice to get my first Royal flush.

I qualified for the Midnight Madness on Full Tilt by winning a 90FPP tourney and then managed to finish 206 out of 2776 to win $19.86. First time I have made it into this tourney, made for a late night/early morning.

man some of you guys doing real well... what are you guy's view on starting hands at the casino? My natural tendancy is to play lots of hands and be very aggressive (started out playing lots of sngs - late game strategy) but found I got killed in cash games... have since trimmed my starting hands to like folding kj utg, kt mp etc... found its really helped my results at the casino... and cut the variance heaps too... still quite aggressive though. Really interested to hear what you guys think?

Another point, just been reading Doyle Brunson's super system, where he calls kq,aq and below trouble hands??!?! I love those hands? sure you need a bit of caution... but otherwise you're only playing ak and pairs?
