Just come third out of 1114 in a $6 party donk a ment. Winner was awesome mind, anyone know him guy's a machine, $403.08 not bad for the evening's work. Any thoughts on this hand, the one I ultimately blew and is it just me or is the difference between 1st and 3rd astronomical $800 odd quid.

I won a $3 turbo at full tilt last night for $290. Took 3 hours and I was behind 4 to 1 when heads up play started.

    Fun stuff.

Finally back to the $22 sngs after not playing them for several months due to having to cash out large amounts of my br. Im now up to around $800 after winning the $225 in the $750 freeroll on AP about 3 and a half weeks ago.

Meh, broke the $1000 mark again after a good run at the 22s.

Working my way up, two Sundays ago, got 3rd in a 2.50+.25 2000+ person tourn and last night 2nd on a 4$ 180 sng. $405 and $145 respectivley. Played about 8 in between those games and mostly lost to bad beats. I am pretty happy with my gameplay.

    Hi, another Eurofish here.

Playing HE for two months now, just playing for pocket money and trying to learn.

Original BuyIn round 60$ (plus 50$ for Miller and Sklansky ), lost 30$ picking here and there, decided to play the lowest FRlimit tables seriously (thats 02/04 at PS) until I beat them. Done that and with 32$ I started the .05/.10 FR limit tables. Actually around 38$, my sessions end up around -10BB/100 to 20BB/100. Feels like winning atm, and winning through improving thats why I dare to post it here.

Expect me to burn some of my weeks earnings at one of the gauntlets just as a way to thank you for all the valuable info I found here.

I have been been reading all the articles and strategies on this board. Also I bought two Howard Lederer dvd's (saw those abouth 4 times already) and bought Harrington volume 1 and 2. Further I purchased poker tracker and Calculatem pro.

I play tournaments mostly and a few months ago I reached a few final tables keeping my bankroll at about $ 500 during the first four months.

Goal was to reach the 1K$ mark in may. The past three days I reached that and more:

    04-29-07 came third in a 3 $ rebuy Winnings $ 400
04-30-07 came first in 22$ speed tournament Winnings $ 500
    05-01-07 came second in 33 $ tournament Winnings $ 1250

Bankroll jumped to 2500 $ in just 3 days. Don't wanna brag but I am very happy and had to share it

Will order Harrington volume 3 now and will stick to good bankroll management. I won't get carried away because I am nowhere near being a good player. I wil just keep studying the game to improve.

A big thanks to everyone posting these great aricles on this board, keep it up!

Very long and hard fought 3.5 hours, $1.1 PStars, 15/611. Silly stakes, but I've been gone for quite a while and didn't want to move up to the next stakes just yet even though my BR is ready for it.

Villan played very loose preflop and respected most of the table post-flop. However, with me, he enjoyed calling my preflop raises and followed that by re-raising AI over my cbets 5 consecutive heads-up hands (Many times a 10xpot bet). I finally call him down with MPTK and he's got TPTK. I'm not sure whether we both just kept getting hands at the same time or he thought I'd simply fold every time.

Didn't help that towards the end there I started to feel a little sick to my stomach. May have caught the flu from my roommate. Ugh.

I'm glad I got to play at 25NL... this is what I used to do in the past but I've cashed out and spent it all. This is a great way to gain my way back in the game

I started playing back in September '06 with a $50 deposit on PS. I started with micro MTTs and then started playing the $5 SnGs. I bounced around in bankroll up to $185ish, but then tilted most of it away thanks to the noobie circle of death. I completed my circle of death in early May with a $60 roll.

After reading alot and analyzing my game, I found out that the tagg game I'd been fooling myself into thinking I was playing was actually TW. I opened up my game and started playing relative to opps' styles than pigeonholing myself to one playstyle. I not play an aggressive game erring on the side of tight usually, and it's helped my game enormously.

I started playing the $5s again with my new game and confidence May 22nd. Last night, I crossed over the $275 mark to play the $10s exclusively. My old ROI/ITM over 300 games was ~6-9%/41-42% respectively. My new ROI/ITM over the last 45 games has ranged from 75-90%/55-65%. I realize that the new numbers are gathered from a tiny pool, but I stongly believe that I won't be regressing back to my old mean. Now to continue on toward the $20+2s.

This is not a huge win for me money-wise, but it is a nice win considering I suck at ring games. Last weekend I sat down at my normal cash game, where I normally break even, and I walked out with 12.5 buy ins.

Sat with $20, left with $250. So, good for me.

This is a "more luck than skill" story, I'm sure. JUST started studying Hold'em (Lee Jones, mostly, with Ed Miller to follow) and haven't progressed beyond play money (while trying to figure out how and where to deposit as a U.S. player). Went on a cruise on Carnival. I checked out their website to see if they dealt any Hold'em and all they mentioned was Caribbean Stud (blech). Once onboard I discovered they had one table of PokerPro dealing Hold'em (automated dealer so basically a cross between online and b&m). Then I looked at the stakes: $3/$6, too rich for my blood as a rookie. "Let's see, 50BB, $300, too much." Then my wife said "You should try it, we can afford it, and here's $100." Well, I guess I can afford to lose that much--once--and I'd regret not trying, so I watched the game for a while. Ten seats, 7 or 8 people seeing most flops, and not that much raising. Hell, that's like a play money table with real money. So I bought in for $200 (nobody had much more than that on the table) and told myself "Those are chips, just play."

After a couple of rounds of folding trash I felt "I belong at this table, they aren't really better players." Anyway, the first session I was up $50, the second session I was up $149, and I cashed out my original stake. The third session my concentration wasn't as good (nothing to do with the earlier cocktails...really) and I ended up with a 3-session net of +$108.

Now one key to that was that I stayed disciplined (probably weak-tight)against players who were there to gamble rather than to play good poker, but the *real* key was that I never had a really good hand that turned out to be the second-best hand. So beginner's luck had a lot to do with it, but I now have $108 as an initial online BR and I'll probably start out at $0.05/$0.10 fixed limit. Wish me luck and skill!

I hope next week I'll leave NL10 for good.

On June 16 I started with $100 playing NL10 6-max at PS, won $500 in a month, jumped to NL25, lost 10 buy-ins (sigh), moved down to NL10 and built back until $500 then cashed it out.

Since then I've moved to Everest and now my BR is 800+ but I'm still playing a mix of NL10 and NL25. I've got another $25 bonus to go at Everest and after I finish there I'll be moving to OnGame network for more bonus whoring.

A big thank you to the regular advisers at Beginner's Circle forum for answering my noob questions and reviewing my HH's.

Live tourney this weekend at the Trump Taj (the Capital Area Poker Championship). Bought in for $100, won the tourney, took home $1200.

I do so much better in live games than online that I'm thinking of switching over to playing exclusively live poker. The only downside of that is that I wouldn't get to play as often, so we'll see.

Mostly this seems to be tourney winnins, but I doubled my roll on Full Tilt today and had to post somewhere.

Started with 155, ended at 325. The 10NL tables have been pwnd.
  46. #271
Not really sure if this counts but yesterday I made the decision to get back in the game. Grinding out Freerolls online for a while until I can build up some type of BR.

  47. #272
I've got my proudest achievement in poker so far (and I just achieved it 5 minutes ago)

So, I look around to play some poker but I don't feel like grinding so I say, why not give a tourney or sit n go a shot, so I buy into that 10 table sit n go which I bought in for 3 dollars expecting to et nothing back but just try and improve my game and then I end up winning some big hands and somehow I manage to win it.

So, for now my sit n go record = 100%

pretty impressive eh? I'm thinki' I should give there a little more of a shot maybe

o, btw prize money was 15 dollars which is alright, I was more happy with actually winning it though

Long time lurker, first time poster

Pokerstars $11 180-player MTT Sit -and-Go. First place for $594!!

First time playing a real MTT (not freeroll) and I won! I'd really like to post the trimmed hand history for any advice/criticism but I'm not sure if I should make a thread in the Beginner forum or the MTT forum? Or maybe just here?

    Thanks!
  49. #274
Actually, after looking throughthe hand history, it's embarrassing! I had no business winning that tournament!

You can do either, although I think people would be more likely to look at a complete $11 HH in this forum

So far I've turned a silly $17 bankroll into $580 playing micro limit. I'm on the brink of my first shot at $1-$2.

    Plus

When I left Stars I had about 200 FPPs leftover. On a whim I went back and entered a satellite SNG, and won. Turned that into tourney bucks and went on to win a couple of minor limit SNGs. Now I have another $17 bankroll at Stars, just like 10 months ago when I first started playing. I think it will be a Limit SNG bankroll, just to see how far I can take it, cause it isn't part of my 'real' bankroll.

First major tournie as a grinder. $1.10 R&A event at UB. 1am - 7am and came first. Just under $400!!!!

Once the first hour was up I never went into an AI battle until real late in the tournie. Sucked out only once before the final table - hit trips on the river with 3 tables to go. Once I got to the final table I kept doubling up and became huge chip leader. Caught a flush to get it 3-handed. 2nd place guy was great and I almost feel bad about slowplaying a boat to clean him out. Almost.

    10NL here I come!!!!!!!

Well it wasn't a win, but I finished 56th in the Sunday 100k at PS and won a nice $280 for my 70 frequent player point buy-in. I was in it for over 4 hours, definitely a fun way to spend my Sunday afternoon. I have to say it was honestly the best poker I've played to date. I ended up losing most of my stack with AQo to AKo. I think it's a rule that whenever I get AQ, someone else at the table gets AK.

I made some great reads, I'm finally getting the hang of making reads online. Can't wait until next Sunday!

Finished 9th in a 2700 man freeroll. I call it a good finish even if it was free. 3 bucks, woo!

Just finished 15th in an 800 person MTT - almost making the final table for the first time ever. Best result in history thus far.

Got knocked out in a 3-way all in between two low pockets (7's and 5's) and my K10s which I raised with in late position. Landed two pair but the one caught a third 7.

Kind of exciting throwing around tens of thousands in chips - really helped my thought pattern when it comes to tourneys though. I realize that these huge stacks are the exact same as the beginning, just larger.

I'm a ring LHE player. I don't play NLHE, and I definitely don't play tourneys, but just for fun I entered a $3.30 R&A MTT at CD Poker last night.

I played fairly well, and had the good fortune to flop a nut flush as the small stack when it was heads up. So I won the tourney and took away $202.50.

That makes my total ROI on MTT play about 1200%, which is hilarious.
