 What's the list of very basic topics you think a complete beginner should understand before tackling 10nl FR? Here's my list:

1. Preflop Hand Selection/Gap Concept/Position
2. Equity/Pot Odds/Implied Odds
3. General Idea of How to Bet Your Hands Postflop
4. Understanding the "Long Run"/Bankroll Management

What's your list?

 all of these, yep. There are very good articles on each of these in the strategy section. I would suggest playing one hour/until one buy-in has been lost (whichever happens first) then reading these articles. Sticking to the 19 hands strategy for a while will help keep life simple.

A couple more comments, a complete beginner should probably start at an even lower limit if possible.

They should also understand bankroll management (and be prepared to lose it!) i.e. they should not be playing $10nl without about 30xbuy-ins, i would suggest (and many here would disagree) buying into $10nl with $8 to start with, meaning a minimum bankroll of $240

They need to understand even more simple things too: what an out is, what the best possible hand is for each board (and identifying how their hand fits relative to that), etc.
I would also suggest starting with limit rather than no-limit to avoid the dangerous temptation of the all-in button. So long as they can resist the "it's only one bb to see the next card" trap.
And one more thing. Rakeback and bonuses. They should know what these are and how they work, to avoid the potentially expensive mistake of not getting them. Maybe best to go into a non-rakeback site (e.g. pacific, party/empire) first and clear the first deposit bonus as they play.

In my book there are three very basic concepts every new player should fully understand.

First, gain an appreciable understanding of the advantage and disadvantage of you position both before the flop and after the flop.

Second, limit you starting hands based on how your position will be affected once the flop comes.

Third, and probably most importantly, learn to compute pot odds quickly. Although implied odds are an important concept the are far less meaningful that understanding the concept of computing basic pot odds because implied odds are pure speculation and may never come to being if your opponents dont cooperate with you plan and fold or check to you.
