I have seen alot of traffic on here about bb/hr I have looked on pt too see what I have been running. I am at 7 for the last 42k hands. My question is how many hands should you want to see before you really use this stat as a tool to see where you are at.
Thanks
Don

42K is a pretty good indicator. What stakes do you play? You probably have the BR to move up soon

I did skip it i know that is not the best br management but i did. right now my roll is like 560. I still buy in for 100x bb but like i said i am prepared to drop down to .25 if i feel i am getting outplayed. I followed spoons br management all the way to .10 i moved up to try and give myself some confidence. Might not make sense but i do feel i am a solid player. I spent about 6 months of playing .01 and .05 poker and reading any article on here that i could. I have read several books and played for about 3 years in live games from 1.00/2.00 up to 2/5 no limit games. But did not really have the confidence to tackle the online seen.
Thanks
Don

BR manageement has nothing to do with skill or confidence. It does have something to do with discipline and variance though

we use BRM not because we get outplayed, but because of coolers and bad beats that may occur back to back

i skipped it to try this level not with the intent to necessarly stay here i have ten buy ins and was not afraid of loosing one buy in if that happpened i would move back to .10 until i have the 750 like spoon recommends that is all i was saying i tried this level. Not that i am playing here forever. I honestly think if you can honestly say you won't have any problems with moving down after a beat good or bad than it don't hurt to try one time i have played here for two days and won both days however please don't take this that i am saying me playing at that level was the correct move i knew it was not within br management to do so before i did. that is all i am saying
Thanks
Don

It just slows you down. You're not even rolled for 25NL.
If you absolutely have to take shots, it should be at 25NL.
No more playing 50NL! ...unless you're playing me HU. Everything else is just silly. Loosing just 1BI will take you 7k hands at 10NL to grind up again. It's plain stupid to take shots for 1/10th of your BR. Don't do it.
Here's some advice for you:

I agree completely but we just don't bother after the excuses start. He's free to do what he wants with his money and we wait to say I told you so.
