I have recently started over with 30.00 and moved to pokerstars. I am currently playing .01/.02 and trying to build my bankroll to 100.00. In the last 3 days which is when i made the deposit. I have won over 55.00 I play 6 tables at the same time. Now I was planning on moving up once i get to 100.00 but I know that right now my success is to great cards and alittle bit of good playing. So i don't want to move up even though i will be rolled to do so My point is I don't want short term success to equal short term bankroll. So my question is. this.
Spoon says i should play .05 once i get rolled to 100.00 this is about 20 buy ins. But if i am playing 6 tables at the same time which would put about 30.00 in play at the same time i should have a bigger roll to do so. am i correct. I know if I am playing 6 tables and loose 6 buy ins than the problem is more than my bankroll it would me playing too many tables. However I also know that the more tables you play there is a decrease in players ability as well. SO what is the best way to protect your bankroll while grinding at the micro stakes while playing multi tables.
Thanks
Don

There's no change. Bankroll management guidelines are based on win-rate and standard deviation. Your standard deviation will stay about the same with more tables, but your win-rate might suffer a little. In any event, it's fine to wait until $150 to start playing 5nl if you want.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Say instead you play on the same table
Couldn't you lose 6 buy-ins one after the other?
If you were to say "But that would take a longer time" of course you'd be right. But playing multiple tables is a way of getting more hands in, whether you lose them or not.
The point is: your chance of losing 6 buy-ins is the same whether you play 1 table for 6 hours or 6 tables for 1 hour.

But how does this apply to not risking more than 10% of your Bankroll? I play 10NL, and I only recently got my BR over $400, so now I've started 4-tabling, up from 3.

I don't think you should count multiple tables for that rule
someone with $750 could definitely 20 table NL25, even though they'll have more than half of their BR on the tables they're still doing fine

Thanks for clarifying that. I may try working my way up to 6 tables. 3 was just getting boring, but I thought I needed the larger BR to go to 4. 4 is more fun, but I still think I could add a couple more.
I need a much bigger monitor.

I think that for playing multiple tables it is less an issue of bankroll management and more a matter of controlling your tilt because once you start tilting on that many tables it can be a long fall before you quit.
Swings happen a lot faster with more tables. The coolers suck, but the heaters are great!
