I don't have a HH, but it's a pretty easy hand to remember.

I was playing on Stars this weekend, .01/.02 NL FR.
I had just sat down a few hands before this and so I had no reads.

I am UTG w/ KK.
I raised to .10
UTG+1 re-raises to .20
Everyone folds to me.
I re-raise to .50
Villain re-raises to .80.
I push all-in w/ about $2.65.
She called in a heartbeat w/ AA and it held up.

Not considering the fact that she actually had AA, should I have been more concerned with that possibility and just called that last raise, or did I do the right thing in getting my money out there and just got unlucky?

I have a general rule of thumb at the micro-stakes limits I play at ($10NL currently...)

I am ALWAYS more than happy to get HU all-in PF if I can w/ AA or KK. The only exception is if I have a solid read that villain is sphincter tight (i.e. VPIP of 8 or so) and then I may pause for a moment depending on whether I'm deep-stacked or not.

But I've seen way too many people just even over the 20K hands I've played to date push PF w/ lots of stuff other than AA (AK, AQ, AJ, KQ... and that's the good stuff... also seen it with any PP, suited connectors and literally lots o' crap...) And laying KK down to any of that PF would be criminal.

So nh and don't worry about getting hit with the AA... it will happen, but you'll win enough times in this kind of HU scenario at these stakes to turn a profit over the long haul...

...after all, if your not willing go all-in PF w/ KK, what are you willing to do it with?

You played this perfectly. Any time you manage to get all your chips in the pot preflop with KK is a good day at microstakes.

If you call the re-raise, how would you possibly be able to tell that opp has AA? Say you just call the re-raise and the flop comes J 7 2, you're getting all your chips in, right? Opp will instacall, same result.

Thats a good point. I guess it's just the way things go when you have KK up against AA.

you played fine. however, when you find a villain, at any level, willing to 5bet you, w/o shoving, you can be concerned about AA. note, i didnt say to fold it. just dont be surprised to see it.

you played fine. dont fold KK pf (see thousands of threads here).
