After sortin some things out at home, i was able to start playin poker again. Ive was busy building up my BR up at the $10 Nl tables (at prima) and thought i would give the Bad beat 0.5/1 PL table a go.
I bought in at $30, which was just my profit from one of my sessions earlier and didnt mind if i lost it.
Half hour later i was up2 $100, another 10mins later it was just me and another guy left.
His stack was $80, over the course of 10mins his stack was down to nothing.
And i left the table with just over $200.
I know this is prolly a lucky session, but there are sum really bad players there, the $200 was a nice addition to my BR, which is goin to be moved soon to start whoring.
Just wondering if this is the general standard at the bad beat tables.

It *can be* particularly at the low limits. But move to not-quite-so-low-limits, and youll see that there are a lot of people capitalizing on the idea that the weak players play the BBJs, so theres not much of a difference past say $1/$2.
<Staxalax> Honestly, #flopturnriver is the one thing that has improved my game the most.

In all honesty Im not sure what the average play is like at those tables; however, I do know that buying in for $30 at a 0.5/1 table isnt smart at all and not going bust was lucky. Dont go from playing $10nl to $100pl, not only are the games two different skill sets, but they are on two completely different ability levels. The play at bad beat tables may be bad, but if you arent bankrolled for the games, it doesnt matter how bad it is. Also, the rake is increased at these tables, so you have to have an even higher winrate to win there. There is some site that says what the jackpot has to be at to make playing at those tables +EV, playing over your bankroll is almost never +EV though
