I'm on a heater today. Up 5 BI in 100 hands of 8-tabling, so like 10 minutes. And I feel invincible. And then I realize I'm on an immortality binge. I get T8s UTG+1, raise it up thinking a 976 flop would be nice - zing - there it is. That sort of crap.
So I try to reel it in, play solid poker. But I try a couple of hero calls, and a crazy overshove. Sure, I'm up 7.5 BI in 2k hands today. But I should be up 10 BI without 3 or 4 dumbass moves.
While super-agro play on heater can run over tables, there's a limit. And I crossed it bigtime. Since serious heaters come around so rarely, I had never realized how my game can go to hell when I'm WINNING. Like everyone, negative variance can tilt me. But, positive variance?
Just knowing it exists is enough, I think, to keep it in control. But has anyone else experienced this? Just wondering.

It's still tilt. Anything that takes you away from your best game and best mental state is tilt.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.
