How low must X be (kicker to your ace) in order to call in the CO spot (right of dealer) in the first level of a 30 player sit n go?
I have 1000 chips, only 20 chip blind. Do you limp in?
At what value of X (kicker) do you not limp in?

Ten or Jack. Definitely not nine though.

Q
Early in a SnG, I don't want to have to bother with trying to figure out if I'm outkicked.
and I'm raising from the cutoff. Otherwise, I fold.
Early in the tourney, there's just basically no reason to do it.

Yes, Jack or Ten would be minimum, IMO.
With a Jack, there are only two cards somebody can out-kick you with, ten there are three. With an 8, there are 5 over cards and 6 under cards, so 8 is about the median, but if anybody calls you, they'll probably have a kicker over 8 or they probably wouldn't call (the button might, but the blinds probably wouldn't).
Early in a tourney especially, no reason to risk it all on a marginal hand.
I'm pretty new at this, but that's my take on it (with explanation).

For me A-J minimum, and even then I'd prefer A-10s or A-9s.A-Qs or A-Q would def be nice;I'd limp with so many limpers and see how the flop works out for me.
A-10 and A-9 off for me I don't bother.
