I've been in a few spots today against weak players. If i see 50/10 stats I just CANNOT put down my hands on the flop when i'm getting raised. Turns out, i've lost a couple of buy-ins here.

Would like to see if you think I can get away from this hand where villain is running 48/9 and has, a couple of hands ago, got his money in on the flop with middle pair (outdrawing his opponent on the river and taking down the pot).

The difference between this hand and the one he previously played is the size of his raise on the flop and I think stack sizes are much larger. BIG raises on the flop should mean weak players have actually got something? Seems that way today...

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (9 handed) -

BB ($2)
UTG ($4)
UTG+1 ($5.85)
MP1 ($1.75)
MP2 ($4.55)
Villain (MP3) ($11.25)
CO ($19.60)
Button ($5.50)
Hero (SB) ($12.90)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A K
4 folds, Villain calls $0.10, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.50, 1 fold, Villain calls $0.40

Flop: ($1.10) A Q J(2 players)
Hero bets $0.80, Villain raises to $3, Hero raises to $11.70, Villain calls $7.75 (All-In)

Turn: ($22.60) Q (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($22.60) 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $22.60 | Rake: $2

I didn't need to get all my money in but since I figured he'd do this with KQ or any ace, maybe TT, and his bet is so large, i'm folding or it's all in on the turn anyway.

bleh probably fold the flop as annoying as that seems

I find it hard to believe that the bottom of his raising range is worse than QJ on the flop.

when you shipped it in on the flop, what do you think he'd have after reraising you?

suggestion: op should download pokerstove, define a likely hand range, check our odds, then tell us what the best play is.

His range for raising the flop, possibly:

TT,ATs+,KQs,KTs,QJs,ATo+,KQo,KTo,QJo

My equity is about 50%. What i'm thinking is, maybe he just calls with AK,KQ,TT,AT so his range is far narrower:

In which case is raising range is two-pair hands and the made straight:

AQs-AJs,KTs,QJs,AQo-AJo,KTo,QJo

which makes me a 3:1 dog: i'm not getting anywhere near this to call so: FOLD.

It's just difficult after seeing him two pair the river with middle pair on the flop a few hands previous and stack some bloke. Suppose flop texture should have had me shitting myself and running a mile since the second range I put down has me a big dog.

Your input's much appreciated.

Perhaps this was his line of thinking as well. Hook and line, meet sinker.

When two pairing the river with middle pair they tend to call flops and not raise them though. Guys like this have a huge difference between raising range and calling range.
