not really a poker forums type of guy but i have been running into problems with my game and thought some outside thoughts would help. been playing poker for like 4 years and have settled on a style that suits me. in cash games i multi table maybe 6 tanles playing either 50/1 or 1/2 NL(depending on how my bankroll is at the time). i am a fairly consistent winner at this level but recently i have experinced some down turns and was wondering if anyone could help. the problem for me is that i raise an awful lot of pots i am playing shorthanded so my late postion rasing range is anything from 53suited thru j8 and upwards. cause i play mainly on stars i am rarely facing similar oppents and so i am very unsure about the level of skill i am up against. if i do have notes on people the diffculties i face are often easily rectified but against unknown quantities particularly at this level of play i find it diffcult. The first problem is that i am facing a lot of reraises. if i am running well at the time calling these reraises often become my most profitablke situations cause i find at this level players consistently over value there hands and if you flop[ big two pair and beyond then usually get them to put it all in...anopthjer problem is that with the standard of player the range of reraing is very weak (and consisering i am raising so frequently) often they have turned over jq or even 109 s . recently i have been over commiting with marginal hands. i know people are gonna say imaeaditly that his is my problem but im not so sure and tell you why....because of my style iam often at a table where almost every raise i put in experinces a reraise....which means that my style is completely stiffled (i do adjust in these situations but often am out of my element having to play more passively, i feel like writing this post is helping my answer my questions but in the heat of battle- well u all know i suspect). i know that perhaps i should just play the same way i do in non reraised pots i.e play small with nothing (c bet the flop and if u get action discontinue aggresssion) and big pots with big hands....i think what i am trying to say is that i am uncomfortable in reraised pots because i like to have the lead in the pot and wondering the best way to extract the maximum in good spots and lose the minumum in bad

ok question two,

i was having a discussion with a poker playing friend of minE and he thinks that checking your big hands in low limit cash is more profitable....with the way i play i always always always bet my big hands.....some days this works out very well with epiople prepared to the hang themselves with top pair....but other days i am betting out and people are just instant folding and im lefting lambasting myself for betting out...people are going to say its all to do with circumstance reads on the player ectera but often i have no read cause i dont know them secondly these extrem circumstance are so frequent i.e often the table is playing very unformally and information gathering is diffcult...particular when you are 6 tabling....dunno my brain hurts from all of this....maybe im just experincing variances but then again maybe someone can help....
