I posted a similar hand in full ring a few days ago. This one you definitely have to go broke with though, he has AK more often here than anything else.

Although it's likely best to 4b/call or fold preflop. But as played you need to get your money in on this turn.

I find it strange to think villain would minbet the turn twice with AK. There's still hands that beat his and a few draws out there that he's giving value to.

I wouldn't slow play Q's when an A's comes on the flop. I would have come out hard after the flop then checked it down after that.

He either has AK or AA. He has one of those more often than the other. We beat the one he has more often.

It's an easy call with your boat. It just sucks that you were up against AA.

By betting you'll push out worse hands that will call a bet on later streets, and it puts you in an awkward situation for the rest of the hand if he calls/raises you.
It's one of those ''your either way ahead or way behind situations'' so if they are behind..i.e JJ, they are drawing pretty slim so you can afford to give a free card.
Am I close?

I think that you did everything fine. There are just times when you get beat for no good reason. This is one of them. Just be thankful you didn't have more money to lose!

Likeafish, welcome to FTR. This hand is fairly standard. Before the flop you could certainly have re-raised or called, our hand is definitely too strong to fold. The flop check is good, I'm assuming you were going to check and then fold to a bet, which is certainly fine although calling one bet would not be a bad way to play the hand either.
On the turn you have the 3rd best hand possible, just behind AA and AQ. It is likely our opponent might play AK or another Ax hand this way (AJs maybe) as well as pocket Tens. The best way to proceed on the turn is to maximize the value we get out of those hands. Therefore getting the money in on the turn is certainly fine.
Keep posting HH's and comment in other threads to see if you're thinking like some of our more experienced members.
