why did you raise flop? why that size?

I'd raise flop more, we have FE, of course we do. We're the bb seeing a free flop, we can easily have 2pr. Raising puts lots of Qx hands in a horrible spot, and we have huge equity when called.
Agree with raz re checking back turn though, one reason I raise this flop is so I have initiative on turn, meaning I can peel for free if I choose. Villain doesn't look like he wants to fold, so our FE is less on turn than it was on flop, thus I check. Paired board sucks, so I just want a cheap showdown with top pair or flush, or fold out king high.

Yes, turn barrel is bad here imo, much better off taking the free card. Give him a range at this stage in the hand and think of what part of it he would fold to a bet...

The flop minraise is dubious as well. If you had top pair, two pairs or a set here, would you just minraise on such a wet board? Don't get me wrong, I like minraises in some circumstances, but not here.

I hate button limpers and tend to punish them for it. But as played, raise flop more and check back turn.

i like calling flop.
even if limped pot, SB lead a very wet flop in 4opp w/ 0.11 in 0.16 pot so he shows he has a hand he likes and is not going to fold , not to a minraise anyway.
by checking back we let BB and MP to call and that gives us great pot odds an even better implied. by raising we make them fold hands that will pay big when we hit ( QT,JT,89, small FD) and we have no FE v hands like OESD and NFD.


HU i like raising better, but i think that in this hand calling flop gives more value then raising.

How many hands is SB ever folding on the flop?

Heads-up your flop raise would build the pot and strengthen your range. With 2 players to act, re-opening the action is going to make it very difficult for weak hands with minimal impact on your equity from continuing.

I definitely see your point, so multi-way here I should be floating and hoping MP & BU cont w/ worse? my pot odds are good if just two stay in it here...

Yeah, but it's not really a float. You have a very good hand. It's just calling figures to make us more money than raising.

op, do you always try to play your draws fast?

I want people to know that I raise my flush draws on the flop. This means I can raise my sets on 2tone flops and get action more often.

How many opponents do you play enough hands against for them to notice if they were paying attention?
How many of those guys pay attention to anything but HUD stats?
How many of those guys are regulars who you're probably playing close to break-even poker against anyway?

in general i like playing draws fast but this one is an exception because:
- we should expect to have little fold equity against villain's range
- we are going to get 3bet on the flop a decent % of the time, because villain has a pretty strong range of hands here (obviously this is related to the above point)
- calling not only prevents villain from re-raising us and making us fold our equity, but it also keeps the other players in the hand with worse draws or pair hands which can pay us off on later streets
