Hero bets $0.20, MP1 calls $0.20, 5 folds

Flop: ($0.47) 8, 2, 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.35, MP1 raises to $2.55 (All-In), Hero calls $2.20

Turn: ($5.57) K (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($5.57) A (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $5.57 | Rake: $0.25

I am going to post the results because I want you to look at it from the villain's perspective too... he showed down JJ. Is this a bad beat for him? Before you flame me, the reason why I posted this is because it is commonly said to not 3bet JJ.. so he flat called my raise with JJ, and he sees a flop which could be interpreted as a cbet on a missed flop. So given his short stack, did he not make the correct play here? Or no?

Bad beat for him? The reason I posted this is because I typically end up in bad situations with TT and JJ post flop and I'd like to sharpen my awareness before I end up in the villain's position. They are the hardest hands for me to play.

 This is why people say dont' fold big hands. Because shorties at micros will felt terrible hands.

Before you think "JJ isn't terrible" think about the range the villain is 'value betting' with his push"

Std. all around. Your bet doesn't have to be a bluff for him to get it in here. If you have JJ and he has QQ this hand still works the same.

Fairly good by both players I'd say. On a drier board I'd probably just call flop in his position to let you bet your air again on turn, but with this flop I think its fine as played by both.
Just playing to improve.

It's commonly said not to 3-bet JJ in certain situations.

Like against all those nitty as hell 9/5, or a 15/10 while you're in the blinds. But anyone that's much looser, I'm raising PF and c-betting most flops even if there's an over or 2 if I get checked too.

I've been experimenting with 3 betting a lot lately, and JJ/TT tends to be in this wierd sweetspot, where you always seem to know where you're at in the hand if you have position.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

I think the biggest reason he didn't raise is because he didn't get any set value out of the hand in case he was behind (had he raised), and he has just enough of a stack that he can force you off of whiffs.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

JJ doesnt fare well v's a continuing range from an UTG raise if you 3-bet it.
Just playing to improve.
