Ok, my last thread "KK unprofitable", i think i was wrong :P as i missed out on a big pot today.. Im wondering, should I get KK all in preflop whenever I can? What about queens, as today I faced a raise and a 3bet when I had queens.. I caled, flop came 838.. He bet $3 into a $3 pot. I folded (this is 10nl).. I dont use a tracker or anything like that, but I made anote on this player. What would all of you done? I put him on kings or aces..
What do you do when facing 3 bet with queens though? call and hope for set value?
Another question.. what about jacks, fold to a 3bet? how about a 5x raise?
Cheers for reading

Go here http://www.pokerstove.com/ and download PokerStove. It's free.
Next compare KK to different ranges to see what your equity is. Play around with it for a little bit.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Yes you were wrong in your last thread, getting AI pre-flop with KK is a great result in 10nl, where people will call an AI with T2s. At a full table, you will only run into AA about 1 time in 24, so 23 times out of 24, you will be getting your money in with the best hand.
AA and KK are pretty straightforward to play pre-flop. With lesser hands it gets more difficult and there is no magic formula to tell you what to do. In the hand you mention with queens, it is impossible to give you advice. Were the raiser and 3 bettor loose or tight? What was the size of the raise and the 3 bet? What was their and your stack sizes? etc etc
Look to your left and under "Our Community" you will see "Poker Dictionary". Look up the definition of "It depends". Then look above and click on the Poker Articles tab and read some of those - particularly the one on starting hands. Then look to the left under "Popular Tools" and click on "Hand Converter". Use that to convert your hands and then people will be able to advise you.

Yep, PokerStove is your friend. I don't fold KK before the flop unless I'm up against a super nit, who shoves over my raise and I haven't seen him 3bet in 1000 hands. And even then it's questionable. Even the times we are up against AA we still win 20% of the time, and a lot of other times, you'll be up against JJ+ and AK (or much worse with some people) against a PF shove... So folding is not a habit you should get into with Kings. You should never be mad at yourself for stacking off with KK preflop, like ever.

I dont travel by plane because one skidded off the runway during landing and crashed into a wall on July 24th, 2009.
That line of reasoning is silly right? Its much better to say
I travel by plane becasue "the annual risk of being killed in a plane crash for the average American is about 1 in 11 million" (David Ropeik, pbs.org).
You need to drastically change the way you think about poker and go from thinking A to thinking B. When this happens, your winrate is going to at least double if not triple.
