At least I think so...

First I'd like to thank FTR for everything that I have learned in the past two months. I am amazed at how much my game has improved in such a short time, and I owe it all to smartasses on here like Fnord.

I've been playing the home game with 6 others twice a week for just over a year now, but began playing online about a month and a half ago. Because I came into their tournees as a newb, I got my ass handed to me in the first 4 or 5 months. I slowly began learning the basics of Texas Hold'em and now I'm not loosing as much as I did 8 or 9 months ago.. mind you, they still take my money overall.

Anyways, like I said, I started playing online about a month ago. Pokerstars is my playground of choice. I played on nothing but 5NL, because it made sense to begin at the bottom. I played approx. 10 - 15 hrs each week. On weekends I would play at home with my brother and play on higher stakes for a couple hours a day. After one month, I built up my bankroll from $50 to $170. I was really happen with myself, seeing as the stakes were so low and that I had almost reached my goal of $200 (in which I would move up a level). In two days, I went on tilt and lost it all on higher levels in an effort to 'make a run for it.'

Two days after Christmas, I bought my very own laptop. I could now play from home, rather than staying @ work until 5am.

On the 29th of December, I began playing on 10NL with an initial investment of $50. I couldn't take another month of boring, slow, mind-numbing call stations. I was determined to play my 'A' game, and not worry (just yet) about having at least 20 buy-ins in my bankroll. Immediately I put it all on the line by multi-tabling 5 tables. In 4 sittings (by January 2nd), I had profited 20 buy-ins. My bankroll sits at a cool $237. An average of one buy-in per table per sitting.

I am on such an incline it's almost unbelievable. I partly contribute it to playing my 'A' game on higher stakes, partly to FTR, and party to positive variance. My goal now is to reach $1000 on this level by the end of January or by mid Febuary, in which I will then move up to 25NL. I would have posted this in a blogging forum but am still unaware as to how to start one. If anyone could give any tips, please do so.

Again, thanks to everyone who has contributed. I think I have finally found my calling... Online Risk Management

Congrats and great job man! I know how slow the penny tables and even 10NL can be, so I don't blame you for playing outside your BR a little. I just would make sure not to do it now that you have a substantial BR. Also, I would really recommend bonus whoring once you hit $500. You will reach 1k within a week or two (depending on how much time you put in) just by hitting up party and the skins.

Good recommendation on the $500 bonus whoring idea. Is this because most maximums are in fact $500?

I'd like to bonus whore AMAP, to maximize my account. Is there a link to a 'line' of whoring? I think this would be a great idea, unless there is no line if your BR is above all maximums.

But a list of all of the sites maybe? I know FTR has some info on it, but is it updated regularily?

The reason for the $500 number is that for party and ex-skins you need $500 to take advantage of the full bonus, and it is incredibly easy to clear. There are other bonuses you can do with less than $500, but they aren't as easy especially at 25nNL and below. Read EasyT's 25NL Bonus Guide found here: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ic.php?t=25804

Oh yeah, and if I were you I wouldn't grind it out at 10NL until you hit 1k. I would play 10NL until you got up to $500, then jump up to 25NL and let the whoring begin. It will take sooooo much longer to grind it out at 10NL instead of bonus whoring. Take it from me. With a starting BR of $50, I grinded it out at 25NL and 50NL until I hit about $2k, AND THEN started bonus whoring. Let me tell you, that is the hardest way to do it, and if I had to do it over with bonus whoring, I could've hit the 2k mark in 1/3 of the time or less.

PS: I know eeeee and EasyT know casino whoring like the back of their hand, and from what I hear it's a great way to build your BR and all it takes is $100-200. I haven't really gotten into it, so I wouldn't be the person to ask on this, but if you have some questions about bonus whoring, you can PM me and I'll be happy to help you out. Good Luck!
