it seems many people advise limping sc's behind limpers and playing them in multiway pots. for quite some time i've only been playing these hands from middle-late position and raising with them and avoiding multiway pots. i've been trying to play them so that i'm only against 1 or 2 opponents and in position. i'm paranoid about drawing to a 2nd best flush in a big multiway pot. am i losing value by only playing them like this?

Flush on flush using both hole cards is rare. Pay it off.

Sooted connectors have a low chance to hit big hands. You want a multiway pot for two reasons:
1) Better odds out of the gate. Why limit yourself to 1:3 when you could have 1:7?
2) Better chance someone else will hit something worthy when you hit big. You want someone sitting on a freak two pair when you nail your straight on the turn...you'll both think you're so sly, only you'll very likely end up with his stack instead of the reverse.
Up my bankroll - buy Saints Row.

I could raise any SC from any position if I feel like it, but then again I use game theory alot.

But for normal circumstance at SSNL, I pop a lot of high-middle SC's on the HJ. For raising them on the CO or BU, I like to know how the blinds play. I almost never 43s or 32s though, and if I play 54s for implied odds value (i.e. lots of limpers) it's almost always on the button.

Who need connected? Generally I just want to see as cheap of a flop as possible and if I can't I look for:
a raise that helps me define an opponents hand,
another caller or two on average,
have calling cost me less than 10% of my chips,
and preferably -but not always- close the betting.
With SCs I will take a positional disadvantage preflop since I can get rid of them so easily on the flop and usually I don't have to face extremely difficult situations with them.

Here are four hands I played last night. One is a suited gapper, two are suited connectors and the last is another suited gapper that I use to randomize my raises with.
