Villain is 38/13. I have A8 in the bb and flop top pair on a dangerous board. Am I retarded to lay this down?

Standard since your'e not closing the action...plus since there's like like 56 turn cards you don't want to see, it kinda makes 1 pair multiway on a wet flop suck a fat one against even an optimistic range.

is this one of those spots where even if we're slightly ahead of villains range we have to fold anyway?

fyp.

and i agree with op. you're oop and gonna be in some shitty spots even if you end up just going against the button. If utg calls as well, then almost every turn card sucks balls and we get put in even shitier spots.

It just seems like (if button is decent), we're going to be c/fing like every turn except for an A or 8 or 2, so unless we run out a boat or some shit we're burning money when we call to fold the next street.

Nobody hates folding worse than me (you can't win money when you fold, all you can do is lose it-OP thereom) and top top is generally the nuts for me but this seems like a pretty good spot to say fuck it and chuck it. Write that down.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.
