Ok, I just did the instant bankroll thing and got $75 on a new party poker account, and I fucking lost the whole amount in about 3 hours. I was playing the $25 NL tables, and the first buy-in I lost was with pocket queens to an under set. Okay, no big deal, so with my second buy in I try to play cautiously, and lose with pocket kings to an ace someone caught. Next day and third buy in I manage to come up a little bit, and I was doing homework so I only played pocket pairs and AK so I didn't have to concentrate on the game much. I swear to god I lost my stack with pocket queens, aces, and 10s. Just three hands. When i had my Aces someone called my PFR of $2 with 46s and turned a flush, and when i pfr $2 with my kings someone called with j10o and flopped a set.... and I also felt like the pots get so big so fast it was ridiculous. Seriously if I'm raising in one of those pots past the flop its already like half of my stack.
I know this is just another wah-wah post... but I'm just trying to get some pity. Console me, humor me, or just ignore me ...

I'd really recomend a much larger bankroll, or a much lower limit, but you dont have much of a choice at Party Poker (.25/.50 is the lowest right?)
From what I understand, you should have at least 10-20 times the buyin an your bankroll... so you should really have $250-$500 to play in thoes games....
On the other hand, when I started, I did great, started with $20 and hit $80 in like 2 days... "Poker is easy!!!" ..
The next night i'm out, and it wasnt just bad beats, it was also bad plays.
I'd highly recomend moveing to a site like UB that has .01/.02, .05/.10, and .10/.25 tables so you can play with a small bankroll like that.

Have you seen -rilla's BR management post?

For your $75, you probably would have been better off playing the micro NL game at Stars.

I think it's very selfish of PSO team to promote this instant bankroll promotion in sake of getting as much people signed up to earn their promotional fee off partypoker, knowing 75$ is terribly inadequote bankroll for both .5/1 limit and 25$ NL.
As for you, it's too bad really. I think the smart thing would have been to move that 50$ to your neteller, and deposit at paradise or pokerstars and play microstakes no limit games to build roll to 100$, casinowhore planetluck/starluck -> CON then REEF.

ohyeah and losing with high pocket pair is something you should get used to. Berating "fish" won't get you anywhere towards becoming a succesful player.

yeah I know about the bankroll thing, I usually play on Ultimate bet on the .5-.10 NL tables... where my game has progressed and I usually do pretty well. Everytime I've deposited on UB I've came up at least $80 at this level before cashing/busting out. So the $75 was a free roll... but it just sucked to see the potential profit go right down the drain like that.
STBM huh?

high pockets can be tough..... sometimes, very sometimes. but something to realize about high pockets is if the people you're up against know what they're doing, your preflop raises will only be called by pocket pairs and suited connectors/gappers. so basically if you bet the pot on the flop after a big pfr and they call, you need to start toying with the idea that you're beat.
But, let's be honest with ourselves. if you have AA and flop comes xxx and someone has a set, your stack or at least most of it is gone. that's why BR is important. 20% of the time your AA is going to lose to a worse hand, it just will happen. I expect it to happen, i don't get mad when it happens, i just try to find out when its happening and lose as little as possible. i save getting upset for things like, AI with aces full of 2's getting beat by quad 2's which is by far my worst beat yet. Close second was my ace high flush losing to a straight flush on an unpaired board. that's irrelevant though i was just reminiscing :P
