Ok, none of the ripping it out of me business this is a serious question.
Do you think that there is a *slight* chance that one or two online poker rooms are infact rigged or use their own players? I can win on every site I've played except for two where the play appears completely and utterly pre-programmed. Ie a tight as hell player all of a sudden capping with 52os preflop when you hold kings or aces and he magically flops a full house? This has happened to me over and over on two particular sites where your bankroll will plummet exponentially right to the brink, then suddenly boost back up again to just below what you started with. ie - lots of BIG pots, lots of transactions and lots of rake without busting anyone out completeley.
I know we all joke about it but surely I cant be the only one who still has suspicions about a couple of sites?
All sensible replies appreciated

Ok no replies but I'll just warn you - stay away from Hollywood Poker.
Bots, collusion, chip dumping going on all the time and support arent interested in the slightest when you report it

I think in another thread you said you were playing limit holdem, and even if you don't, it doesn't matter. I've had similar feelings before about a site being rigged, but 99.9999% of the time or more it's just poker being poker.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

I think Live poker is more riged then onlne.
there may be a chance in a similr anount of collusion online. Im more worried about 1 guy on 2 comps.
You think all those 2+2 S.I.H 20 somthing's with 300K BR's dnt cheat? Please..they have comps set up right next to each other. Im not saying they always do, and at the bigest games im sure the dont. Ive watched them play, very stander when ou ee the HH, they just play good cards agressivly at he 3-600 tables aginst ivey and benyamine.
Colding at 1K no limit im sure is quite the BR builder thoug, and if you think it dosent happen your just blind.

Just noting that variance is not the result of cheating.
How many hands do you have logged online total lifetime cash games?

Jibalob, please talk me through how a poker site could work each hand so that each individual player suffers what you describe. I believe the necessary programming would be incomprehensibly complex even with fewer than ten players playing simultaneously.
The other thing of course is that the example you give - 52o capping pre-flop vs aces - is an incredibly BAD way to cheat because, as you say, it's so obvious. There's no need to be obvious - have AK vs AQ, JJ vs QQ, trips top kicker vs boat.
I assume as a serious player you have pokertracker? Please find a couple of hands like this and post them - perhaps people here can give explanations that don't involve cheating or rigging the deck.
Collusion? Yeah, it happens, but at best it will be marginally advantageous - you won't have hand after hand being taken down unfairly because they never know YOUR hand. So it's not really worth it for the player, considering the possible repercussions if caught.
I firmly believe, after a quarter of a million hands or more, that no major poker sites or networks are rigged. And if you want your accusations to be taken seriously - and if I were Hollywood poker (part of OnGame, is that right?) I would be seriously and litigiously annoyed at your libel (as it is without proof) - you've got to post some evidence of suspicious hands.

I think it's entirely possible that there are rigged poker sites. I think it would be illogical and short sighted, but never underestimate the power of greed and stupidity.

So I would guess that you probably don't have enough online experience to be able to roll with the swings, which is perfectly fine. You aren't the first to claim a site is rigged, and you definitely won't be the last

online poker has soooo much to lose, if they ever get even close to caught.
its poker.
i played live last weekend, in a tourney, and got short...so, i got aggressive. i had JTs UTG, and open shoved b/c i knew i would get 2+ callers, and still had a large chance of being best UI (seriously).
long story short. i was delighted to see a HU pot against T9o!! the T flopped, and i felt very strong about doubling up...river hit the 9. worst beat i took all year.
HOME GAMES ARE RIGGED!!! lol.
relax. online poker is not rigged, imo...although we all think so.

Its probably variance and nothing else
Collision will happen, but as bio said its probably marginal
However there are enough sites around, if you think its rigged, or do not like their customer support go to a differet site.
BTW one think I noticed is that you have to adjust your style a bit to different sites

Repeat after me. Poker sites are not rigged.
I have not been playing online all that long so I don't know about every single site, but I can say that the bigger sites have no incentive to cheat. These sites make so much money on rakes, I mean really why would they try to "cheat" you. If you are running a poker site what is you number one priority? To make the clients feel as safe and secure as possible. If it was ever revealed that you were cheating your clients the business would go under in 24 hours. And to think of the programming and logic that would have to be built to do this is mind boggling. If someone ever figured out a way to "cheat" you by teasing you and tempting you to deposit more money, well the programmers should be working on some advanced AI or something.
I always hear someone say "I got bodogged." That's called poker, it's a funny game.
Just my 2 cents.

Another point to add.
If players were cheating / colluding or poker sites were fixing hands etc, don't you think it would be far more lucrative for them to do so at high stakes.
Fixing a low stakes ring game doesn't really accomplish anything considering the risk of getting caught with rigging software.
I personally do think that yes, it is possible for certain smaller sites to be rigged, but I honestly see no reason for big sites who make millions on a daily basis to feel the need.
Plus how do you rig a poker game when anyone could conceivably do anything with the hand dealt to them.
