Villain did the betting for me in the end, but how did I play it? He had only joined the table a few hands ago and hadn't seemed overly aggressive.

Is the call ok pre-flop OOP?
Should I bet the turn or is it ok to check?

Of course he can have the occasional AA or KK here, but I think most of the times you are good here.

But it is a bit hard to say anything without any reads or info on villain...

Pre flop by calling you pretty much have to connect to continue with the hand post flop. But I dont think calling is extremely bad because if you 4 bet him, you are probably committed.
Yes.
No.
I dont know.
He doesnt mean it,
But he acts like he does.

Karnouk <-- beginner, so take it with salt

Meh, if he checks the turn back you can shove the river.

I think shoving the river would be overkill if he checked back on turn.

As played seems std. He can only have one combo of AA and one of KK and 4 combos of of AK. He can also have like AQ or whatever some and a random bluff like barely ever but still. I guess very marginal either way.

his range is mostly AQ right? QQ and lower wouldnt usually play this way and AA, KK are discounted because there's two of each out already. So 6 combos that we dont want to see (ak, aa, kk) and 8 combos of AQ, 8 of AJ (which is sill but probably still there).

If this is his range, hes likely calling or raising any bets we make, so money goes in weather u check or bet, though we lose a little bit of money from his random bluffs we scare off by betting.

i agree with karnouk, by calling you cant exactly continue if you miss. so the only reason i see to do it is if you soul read him for a AQ, AJ type hand...otherwise if you think he has like QQ-TT you should actually reraise or fold so you can get the full value out of racing and get that coin flip as opposed to getting like...half a flip.

calling Pre seems fine to me, since u cant really put him on anything, if u miss the flop u get out cheap.

on the flop why dont we c/r and get it all in if he re-raises? we got enough blockers that AA/KK are unlikely.
c/c seems too passive to me
I post nonconstructive piss

Preflop, standard.

Flop, two pair usually needs to be bet hard early - it's difficult to improve it. This is an odd case, however. His 3bet range can't be much wider than 99+, AJs+, AQ. Nothing in his range except a suited ace would get played this way (other than AA, KK, AK which are unlikely). It's close, but I think you're ahead of his range and made a decent call.

I'm probably raising the flop, hoping to get it all in there.
