Villian is 38/4 over 39 hands
I figured only way he wins this hand is if he got trips or some wack two pair.

oops, didn't read the thread right. Nah, this is most likely a set, I thought it might be a flush draw, but he would have already made a move by now.

Raise more on the flop as well as preflop. Bet/fold turn. A good thing to note is that it's literally impossible for anyone to have trips in this hand so you might want to pay attention the board a bit more.

I think if you pay him off you'll see alot of 2 pair with Ax involved

Hero is getting 6-1 Do you think you're ahead more than 16.5% of the time here?
|
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

Bet more money on the turn.
This looks like a pretty routine fold to me. He's so passive.

I'd probably would've bet more on the flop. If you're going to bet the turn, I think you should bet it harder, even like 60% pot would make our decision easier here. Fold as played since check raise on the turn is usually so strong.

this actually isn't totally out there. he has a HUGE range of winning hands here and since his PFR is only 4 (even over just 39 hands) he could be "slow playing" AA or AK preflop by not raising them.
Against a good player i'm putting him on a set but there are A LOT of Ax hands that I put him on here (AQ, AK, A3, A7, A9). hell 97s isn't even completely out of the picture.
what part of his range do we beat? he's too passive to play an FD or AT like this. honestly i've seen KK push the panick button in this situation and that's about all i could comprehend of beating here (and that's obviously a huge stretch)

Given how passive he is you are probably beat. Cant see him doing this with a worse A.
I have seen a few players limp AA from EP. Happened to me yesterday where and A was on the flop and I had AJ....he just check called me 2 streets and I checked behind on river to get my surprise loss. Limping AA's in EP, whats the poker world coming to?
