Realized my flop play probably sucked.

Both guys seem mentally retarded, but I only have 4 hands on them. 75% vpip 25% raised each.

I was more isolating because I thought I was a little bit ahead of what *my* range would have been from a utg raise in that spot that was an isolate.

Anyway. I read a neat article about "the threat of future bets being more dangerous than the current bet"

My bet left me with jack to scare anyone should I get the tentative call. soooo.

Do I shove to protect that? Bet less?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($13.47)
BB ($4.73)
UTG ($5.31)
UTG+1 ($7.80)
MP1 ($6.29)
MP2 ($3.60)
MP3 ($3.90)
Hero (CO) ($5)
Button ($12.43)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A, J
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.05, MP1 raises to $0.25, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.75, 1 fold, SB calls $0.73, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.70, 1 fold

Flop: ($2.55) 7, 4, 2 (3 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $1.75, 2 folds

Total pot: $2.55 | Rake: $0.10
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

I have a hard time understanding what you mean by "I was more isolating because I thought I was a little bit ahead of what *my* range would have been from a utg raise in that spot that was an isolate"

Are you saying as if you feel AJo is ahead of what you would normally raise PF with in early position at Full Ring? If this is the case could you list your UTG range please.

MP1 was the guy that isolated.

an UTG limp, I don't have a range for an UTG limp except for AA, but I don't think that was this guys hand.

I was talking about the fact that I think I have a pretty good idea of the range to isolate an ep limper which here is (22+ AT+ KQs) So I figgured if he's just on a heater and plays a range like mine, then I'm ahead, but if his range is wider, then I have him crushed.

My UTG range is 22+ AK AQs

I'm just trying to assess your reasons for 3betting here vs. folding.

If I'm understanding correctly you feel as if he could be isolating the limper with a wide-ish range therefore you expect your 3bet to have a lot of fold-equity PF?

k I'd rather do it with a hand that doesn't fair so poorly postflop against a typical 3bet calling range.

I'm definitely not anticipating two folds on this board texture from "retarded" opponents so I use my positional advantage and see the turn for free.

I think I would agree with bigspenda and check the flop here and that normally wouldn't get 2 folds here against tards.

Now that I said that, I have many times played that just like you did.

What's the original question? I already said I didn't like the flop bet, that's the only question I see in the OP.

I typically address what I deem to be the most important mistake I see.
