I was playing at a NL .10/.25 table at PokerStars and there was a guy there who bet just strange. Every hand pre-flop he would raise minimum when it came to him, unless it was previously raised. He did this with any hand, 72o, KK, anything. And the whole time he trash talked. Of course he got some hands on the flop and took down some pots because he basically put everyone on tilt. I tried to just play real tight and ignore him, but what is the optimum strategy against someone like this? Also, on a hand that you would normally limp in on, I like to with low pocket pairs and Axs, should you call the raise, or treat like a raise from a normal player and fold?

Where was he relative to you at the table?
How well was he playing post-flop?

He was immediately behind me. Post-flop he basically would throw minimum bets with draws I imagine, and larger bets (3xBB) with a pair. He wasn't afraid to throw away his cards though. I wouldn't classify him as a strong post-flop player though. He wasn't very aggressive post-flop either.

Check/raise and limp/raise like it's going out of style. This will trap the table for bets and eventually he'll learn to behave.

I agree. If he'll play any and every hand. Then it behooves you to play tighter. Turn off the chat and play the cards with respect to your position. Some players never learn their lesson. So it's up to you to take their money when they do stupid things.
