Hi guys,
i started with 10 dollars,
turned it into 100 dollars!
then i took a spill, down to about 65.
what do you guys think would the best way to get it back up?
play .02/.05?
1table sngs?
the 2$ satellites and cashem in?
what do you guys think?

yea thats good advice.
but im still confused,,
i got up so high with cashtables.
then lost a bunch on cash.
just did a 9plr sng, ended up winning it.
but i still suck at those,
hmmm.
ill find sumthin
im up to 71.
hopefully 80 by tonight.

 how long have you played the cash games? Like how many hands? You don't want to be results oriented in a game you are good at/you like and quit it.

 Well for one you shouldn't be playing 5nl (.02/.05) with $71 imo anyways. So if cash if what you perfer then play 2nl (.01/.02) as that is what your roll dictates. Once you get back to $100 BR then move back up to 5nl. That is if you decide to go the cash route.

However, if you choose to play SNGs, then the 9man SNGs are definately easily beatable if you play SNGs well. However, SNGs are a totally different game than cash, so you need ot read and learn about them, instead of just thinking you can always donk your way through them, because that won't work. SNGs are more of a science imo than anything. Especially in the later stages where the blinds and your stack size generally dictates your play. Head to the SNG forum and read all the SNG Digest if that is the route you take.

 PokerStars has 45-player $1.20 entry Sit-and-Goes that pay 7 places. It's low variance since it pays out a little over 15% of the field, soft since it's a low-level sit-and-go, and provides a lot of poker for a minimal investment, allowing you to improve your game without having a lot of money in play at one time.

yea thats a good idea stacks.
i was playing 5nl, i just dominated it for a while.
i just got used to playing it alot, cuz i won so much off of it.
but then i lost.
but yes, i am going back down to 2nl til 100.
and for the sng's,
im going to make my way over to the tips and stuff now after i finish this.
my question is,
for the 45 man stuff, do they go fast?
or do they play smart and stay in for a while.
or do they blow by fast by donking it,
so how do they play at 45?

Playing a cheap multi-table tournament or a freeroll is a good way to play a lot of hands without putting any money at risk. You are unlikely to win big amounts of money that way, but you'd be doing it for your poker education rather than for building a bankroll. That said, the tournaments mentioned by Spoon may still give you some solid bankroll help if you can keep your concentration levels up and play well for long periods of time.

If you are looking to build a bankroll through cash games you have to follow bankroll management, which means basically risk so little of your bankroll at one time that you cannot go broke even if you get unlucky for 5 hours straight. In your case that means $0.01/$0.02 games. up to $100.

maybe i should switch to sngs lol
got 7 bucks for the effort.
hmm,
up to 78 now.
ima play another one, and a 2nl.
what do you guys think about 2$ HU?

At these stakes and stage of your poker career,
I'd recommend finding the style you enjoy the most,
and learning how to win in that.

is not good,
on a limited bankroll.
Just playing to improve.

Im' pretty sure he was talking of HU sng's which is a viable option, they're very easy t beat and you can double your bankroll after 400 sng's (whichs shouldn't take more than 2 weeks)

But yeah I agree, you should probably specialize in something first and stick to it rather than constantly change the game you're playing.

haha, i just did a 27 man sng,
up and down at first,
i was down to 500 chips at one point,
and i went on to take 2nd.
the final table was crazy after some guy took 5th,
one guy knocked out all of em while i just sat there lol,
i had crap cards, he had bomb cards and knocked people out for me lol
he had me beat like 25k to 5, sumthin like that
no way i could comeback, tried and failed. but it was still cool taking 2nd for a nice 7.20, 7x my money.

Everyone here has given great advice and I think I would just like to add ( pretty sure someone already mentioned it, but it is IMO valuable info)....Playing the cheap One, two, three,etc SnG is def the way to go right now IMO, its the best way to minimally invest into poker and come out with a decent education and way to build a foundation.....not only that but also great to build a BR with....it seems like, from your post anyway, that you enjoy these tourneys so maybe this is what you should focus on for the time being until your roll and knowledge increases, then if you feel like cash or MTT are for you, then jump at the hard and kick some ass.....
